Bacardi Carta Blanca
Poured neat, this is thin, sharp and close to vodka — several tasters mention acetone, medicinal notes and a faint citrus-and-sugarcane hint that fades fast. That's by design: a stripped-back white made to disappear into a drink. In cola or a daiquiri it does its job as a neutral base, letting other ingredients carry the flavor. Just don't expect anything to sip on its own.

How does Bacardi Carta Blanca taste?
Aggregated from 210 community reviews.
Thin, neutral white built for mixing Most tasters see one use: a neutral mixing base. Neat it reads sharp, medicinal and vodka-like with little rum character. Fine in cola or fruity drinks, forgettable in a glass.

Expensive neutral alcohol for mixing. Not for drinking straight, of course. There's probably no need to write more here, but there are many better spirits for mixing. When it comes to impact drinking, you're at home here.

Solo per cocktails.

Blank rum for mixing in cocktails or cola. Pure rather not, because very thin and medicinal.

Not very long and weak aroma

Only for low quality cocktails or in a bit of an « industrial setting » but - there is so much better as a white with prices not so different. Not worth it - unless fresh out of options or looking for tons of bottles

Joa was soll man sagen, hier verpasst man nix. Seinen Zweck erfüllt er aber als mix Rum in solchen Rezepten, wo damit lediglich der Alkoholgehalt erhöht werden soll, ohne weitere Aromen ins Spiel zu bringen.

The smell is already deterrent, in the mouth then wild and quite rough. Pure you can not drink the stuff, even in cocktails colors the Bacardi with its medicinal artificial taste through.

Not much to the nose. Citrus fruits are most prominent but its very background to the alcohol sharpness. The palate is very sharp but does have sugarcane notes along with some toffee and smoke. The finish is very short but that might be a good thing with this rum.....Sorry Bacardi. This could be something for mixing and, when you take price into consideration, if you only drink mixed drinks this could be a bargain. Not for the neat drinkers like me though.

This rum was never intended to be sipped neat. It is a pure mixer and so I will review it for how it was intended to be used. The idea behind carta blanca, as the name also implies, is to filter out as much as possible of the color and flavors of the rum to create something very neutral, almost like a vodka of rum of sorts. This allows other ingredients to shine, makes flavor prediction far easier for mixologists, and creates an excellent base for various rum infusions. As such this product is a great success. As a sipping rum this is a 2, as a mixer about 5 (somewhat overrated b/c lack of flavor starts to hold you back pretty quick) but as an infusion tool it’s a 7.

Good for mixing cocktails

A blend of nail polish remover and Prittstick. Have made my wife and her friend a strawberry daiquiri and there remained fortunately nothing of the disgusting taste of this rum. Had previously made a strawberry daiquiri with the Burke's White Blend of RA which I personally find ingenious to mix, which was the ladies but too intense (what I like the Burke's just).

Even if you take into account that it is firstly a Bacardi and secondly an unaged rum, you can only advise against it.

Last resort mixer , if even that.
Review by Jakob Deiner
- Pur: 2/5 - Rum Cola: 2/5 - Rum Punch: 3/5

Geschmacklos wie ein sprittiger Vodka

Tastes lukewarm and actually like nothing. Does not stay long in the mouth. Very narrow and not at all full-bodied. Nothing at all remains after drinking.

Use only for rum and coke.
