Clément Clément Rare Cask Collection Robert Peronet 2000
"Even people who don't love Clément" keep admitting this one won them over. It's a dirty, wood-heavy agricole — apple, baked apple and vanilla up front, then leather, tar and cognac-like dark fruit underneath. Several tasters compare the grimy edge to Caroni. The 55.3% is well tucked in, but the wood and dry bitterness dominate the finish, which splits the room.
The community says- Dirty Caroni-like edge
- Complex aroma
- Very wood-forward

How does Clément Clément Rare Cask Collection Robert Peronet 2000 taste?
Aggregated from 39 community reviews.
Dirty, wood-forward agricole with a dry finish Most tasters call it a top-tier, dirty agricole — apple, wood, leather and tar with a cognac lean. The catch: it turns very dry and bitter late, which not everyone likes.

What a super Agricole! A wonderful mix of a variety of aromas of fruit, industry, wood, grass, chocolate and leather. The finish is dry and long. I'd love more bottlings like this! Thanks @Thunderbird for the sample.

Apparently this is an unpopular opinion but this one didn’t do it for me. While the nose was lovely - wood, vanilla, chocolate, mixed fruits like apple and dates, I found the palate intensely wood forward. It was dry, bitter, with some sweetness akin to vanilla and hints of rubber and leather. But all in all, too wood soaked for me.

Today the direct sibling comparison of the two Robert Peronet's. The 2000 is somewhat more restrained on the nose, but more elegant. In addition to the fruit aromas, a sweet vanilla note emerges. There is also some nougat and baked apple. The palate is creamy and soft. The alcohol is very well integrated. In addition to the recurring vanilla note, barrel and gentle bitter aromas develop. Then a fruitiness of cherry/grape and dried fruit, wonderful and complex. Once the finish is on the tart dark side, dried fruit is added late on. The 2000 is first-class Agricole

9,2:On the nose, the first impression we get are dried and orchard fruits like dried apricots, dates, apples and grapes, reminds us on cognac. The sugarcane is fresh with tea, herbal and flowery, as the wood is roasted and spicy with vanilla, baking spices, caramel. After airing the rum, tropical fruits like mango and red come out, the cane is a bit waxy, perfumed, the wood more roasted with nuts, chocolate, fruitcake and a bit smoky.Very complex, but round. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is strong with tar and spices, as the sugarcane is juicy, mineral, peppery. The wood is roasted, spicy with caramel, vanilla, becomes charred quickly with dark chocolate, nuts, more balanced and a bit resinous, some bitterness comes with the resin. The fruits ared dried with apricots and raisins. After resting the rum, the sugarcane is herbal, floral and fresher with some tea, red fruits show up... 8,9:The finish is long, as the sugarcane is fresh, grassy, minty and floral, a bit waxy, the wood is spicy, roasted, dry and tannic, pleasantly smoky, a bit resinous and we could notice some pine. The fruits are dried and red.We find the finish a bit dirty and tarry.. Edit:16.8.25

Tagesausflug Baltrum September 2024 Ein Clement Rare Cask Collection (Robert Peronet) (Sample von Saibot Ztar). In der Nase für mich überwiegend holzig. Am Gaumen dann echt tolle Noten von Holz, Fass, Vanille und Schokolade. Kräftiger und leckerer Rum.

Wow, this one is a challenge. Powerful and thick on the nose. A very unusual blend of yogurt, butter, vinegar on one side and leather, vanilla, wood and earthy root on the other. Fruity it is too, with cherry, grape and a hint of strawberry. In the back remains powerful but stale red wine.Complex and different on the palate as well. Slightly bitter-salty and resinous-rooty. Rendzina wine. In addition, spicy with caraway, clove and cardamom. Seems somehow slightly bacony. In addition, there is something green, like peppers pickled in vinegar with olive. With the fruit I go in the direction of tart bergamot. In the finish, the grassy sugar cane with chamomile comes through and becomes increasingly earthy and rooty.Certainly not a rum for beginners and already special in its aroma.Tasted again today at the HanseSpirit, but here it no longer pleases so much. The sweet wine barrel comes through too much. But it still remains amazing that despite the low ABV so much flavors come across...

Overall a good rum.

For me identical to the 2002 15y RX6308. Good Agricole.

Great Agricole! Reminds by the dirty components even something of Caroni.
Review by FischeJ
Sehr gelungener Clement. Schöne Veilchennote. Dazu angenehme Holzigkeit und Frucht. Richtig cremig im Mund. Hinten raus trocken werdend. Toll!

On the nose leather, red fruits, floral notes, wood, roasted sugar, plums/dates and some ripe.On the palate it is floral and fruity(premature plums), has some balsamic notes and a hint of gum/cheese and almond, then some spice(pepper and cardamom) roasted on the finish, overall it is warm and intense. This is the first time I have heard the typical Caroni aroma in an agricultural, really interesting and distinctive. In the empty glass roasted/seasoned cheese and leather. Thanks to Johannes for the opportunity
