Hampden Gold
One member summed it up as "try and mix this one with pineapple juice" — and that's really where this Hampden lives. Expect an estery, tropical nose of banana and pineapple, but a palate that's thin and fades fast. It's the light, budget-friendly end of Hampden: some funk, not much depth, short finish. A few tasters found real grapefruit and mineral notes neat, but most reach for it as a mixer.

Light, thin Hampden best in a mixer Members see it as a lightweight, mixable Hampden with good value. Divisive: some enjoy the clean grapefruit-and-salt side neat, many find it thin, rough, and short on the funk they expected.

Very pleasant surprise: fairly quiet nose (by hampden standards) palate was mineralic, dry, clean and superb grapefruit, with touches of olive and salt to finish. Not rough at all. Distillate still delivers at 40%.

Only for mixing, to rough otherwise fory taste.

Overall a rum with a rather typical Jamaican funky nose, but very soft and light at the palate that my son offered me a glass of. It’s probably a quite short aged golden colored rum produced by the Hampden Estate in Jamaica.

Try and mix this one with pineapple juice yuuuuum.

Tasted this in March 2021, and to me this likely goes better as a mixer, than drinking neat. Estery and spicy in the nose, and taste-notes of tropical fruits, which disappears fast and with very little lingering flavor

Pure distillate without esthers and everything that describes Hampden. Ooops

Hampden Funk zum Sparpreis. Hier wird klar das PLV mit bewertet und zum mixen nicht übertrieben teurer Cocktails ist dieser ideal.

Nice entry level HampdenHas but little character. Relatively thin and short finish compared to its big brothers. Good PLV.
Review by Montana
Ein leicht süßer und öliger Geruch, etwas Ester. Der Geschmack ist zuerst leicht süß, wird dann schärfer, ganz angenehm. Der Nachklang ist eher kurz.
Review by Portman
Unusually arbitrary for a Hampden.
