Ein unshared cask mit 11y tropischer Lagerung in einem ex Cognac Fass. Farbe ist Bernstein. In der Nase recht alkoholisch. Deutliche Eichen-Note, dazu keichtes Karamell. Wenig komplex und trotz der 11y noch nicht beruhigt wirkend. Am Gaumen ein Eindruck von eher jungem Holz. Der Rum ist auch im Mund unruhig und kommt mit einer säuerlichen Frucht. Darunter dann leicht abmildernde Süsse bei spürbarem ABV. Der Abgang ist mittel-lang auf dieser säuerlichen Frucht gemischt mit holzigen Aromen. Mit langem Warten verfliegt etwas der alkoholische Eindruck. Dennoch ist diese Abfüllung aus meiner Sicht nicht unter den Besten einzuordnen.

Unfortunately, compared to last year's bottling, I have to say this time it's more of an average rum. On the nose, vanilla and wood notes dominate, while the fruitiness takes a back seat. On the palate, vanilla prevails again, complemented by fruity undertones and a pleasant sweetness. The influence of the cognac cask is also clearly noticeable.
