Distilia I Movimenti Adagio 1973

Dark dried fruit, orange peel and caramel sit on top of old wood, tobacco and leather — 50 years in the cask left deep marks. One taster calls it "top tier Cuban," and the Cuba-skeptics here agree, several ranking it as their new high-water mark for the island. Dry, concentrated and warming at 54.5%, with a finish that goes long and turns woody-spicy. One to sip slowly.
