I tested this rum when I visited Hopewell Distillery during my recent visit to Barbados, which is a newly started distillery by Perkins & Sons, an old Barbados family active in the production of spirits. This rum, a blend of column and pot distillates, had a short aging in ex-Bourbon white oak whereafter it’s filtered to near clarity. It’s a smooth, gentle and warm rum living up to its name. The finish is medium long.
