Ripe banana, tropical fruit and a little vanilla-caramel lead here, with only a moderate ester touch — one taster called it a "fruity bomb." Ten-year Worthy Park at cask strength, so the nose runs hot and the finish turns dry, spicy, even a touch salty. Fans call it classic WP without the heavy funk; a few wish the nose had more punch and the spice sat back.

#6652 11.04.2026 Tasting at Whisky Watcher in Odense. When looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money with this bottle. The nose is fresh and very fruity with nice cinnamon, ester, banana, vanilla and light caramel. The palate is medium dry, naturally sweet, fruity, oily, citrus, cinnamon, ester and light wood, The finish is medium long and light spicy with light roasted wood, natural sweetnes vanilla, caramel and light banana.

Nase: unreife Banane, Alkohol, Vanille und ein wenig Zitrusfrüchte sind die ersten Eindrücke. Gaumen: hmm, ist mir zu alkoholisch, nach kurzer Zeit kommt das Bananenaroma zurück. Im mittel bis langem Nachklang wieder angenehmer aber die Trockenheit und Note von Salzlake gefällt mir nicht. Macht auf mich einen umrunden Eindruck. Nein, da sind mir die Velier WP Abfüllungen lieber und die sind nicht wesentlich teurer.

Für mich erstmal sehr Alkoholisch fast stechend in der Nase . Auch am Gaumen braucht dieser Rum Zeit. Für einen Rum von Worthy Park ist der erste Schluck überraschend dreckig. Finish ist reichhaltig und auch die Worthy Park Banane kommt klar zum Vorschein. Guter Rum mit ordentlichen PLV. Kann man machen.

Pwouhaaaaaa terrible ce WP Plein de fruits, de la vanille, du caramel, de la coco, une pointe d’épice , des esters mais pas trop, une belle intégration de l’alcool et une longueur plus que correct !!! Un vrai régal une fois de plus de la part de TWJ !!! Je valide ❤️❤️❤️

#1765 Whisky Watcher Tasting 11-04-2026 - Rate 8.2 Definitely one of the better Worthy Park rums I have tasted. For me WP is my least favorite Jamaica distillery. While the nose is clearly forgettable, lacking intensity, the palate definitely brings us back to WP with quite a few fruity, roasted notes, banana, leather notes, but also a spicy/peppery side that, in my opinion, lingers too long on the finish. It's a shame the butter caramel can't contain these overly present spices. An unusual, powerful profile, but clearly unbalanced.

🔥 Masterclass The Whisky Jury – FINAL Episode at my buddy Pascal De Schuytener’s place, with Jef Dijckmans🍻 After the excellent double TDL 2000… we finish this masterclass in style with two new Jamaican 2026 releases 👀🇯🇲 🥃 TWJ – WP 2015 – 56.7% 10 years in ex-US bourbon, cask strength. A WP in all its glory… but an accessible version. 👃 Nose: sweet pineapple, ripe banana, vanilla, chocolate. It’s rich, warm, welcoming. 👄 Palate: caramel, coconut, light funk, orange zest. Straightforward, pleasant, effective. 🔚 Finish: medium but elegant, on wood, chocolate, and a little touch of olive. 👉 A Jamaican single cask with moderate ester, intense but more “classic.” Sometimes, a controlled profile without excess is a good thing. And above all… under €70, it’s hard to be picky. 🥃 TWJ – New Yarmouth 2009 – 59.7% Still in Jamaica, but going wilder. Long overlooked, the New Yarmouth distillery has made a name among fans thanks to independents. And this 2009… packs a punch. 👃 Nose: tropical explosion. Ultra-ripe pineapple, mashed banana, solvent, varnish, green olive… with a hint of fresh mint to balance the chaos. Intense and expressive. 👄 Palate: rounder than expected. Candied pineapple, nice natural sweetness, citrus, and fresh herbs. Power and freshness hand in hand. 🔚 Finish: persistent tropical fruits, soft licorice, a drizzle of caramel. 💥 A real aromatic knockout. High ester for sure, but precise and balanced. Between funk, fermented fruits, and exotic pastry, it’s a brilliant success. Result? 👉 I grabbed 2 bottles right away. Under €120, it won’t last… 🥃 A little detour outside rum… TWJ – Bas-Armagnac Barreau 1976 – 50.1% A little antique full of nobility: ample, deep, leather, tobacco, soft spices, resinous touch. A true contemplation bottle for old juice lovers. Although, personally, I recently still preferred the Darroze 1981 😉 🔥 A top-level masterclass from start to finish. Serge Valentin Whiskyfun.com: Wait, is that meant to be one of the many faces of rum on the label?WP does not mean WordPress in this context, does it. Nor Wolf Parade. We rather love Worthy Park, the Jamaican estery style perhaps a little more streamlined than the others. Colour: white wine. Nose: this is truly an artist's studio, with oil paint, linseed oil, drawing gum, canvases, but also fresh putty and almond milk, balsa wood and cedar, plus our dear little olives. With water: carbon dust turned up to full blast. Mouth (neat): it is really the clarity that is impressive here. Someone might have taken grapefruits, smoked them over beechwood, then generously salted them, before marinating them in petrol. With water: it is not complicated, yet it is utterly beautiful, with the precision of a sniper (S., not the right moment). Finish: long, almost simple, almost narrow. Lovely bitters. Comments: in truth, it is almost refined, without wishing to exaggerate.

Nose: green banana, sweet tropical fruits, a herbal side and apple. Very nice balance on the palate with the notes present on the nose. Perfect alcohol, with just the right intensity and kick needed. At the finish comes a quite marked and bitter woodiness (without being disturbing), with a slightly metallic side accompanied by well-sweetened apple and pear. Extremely long finish. Honestly, at this price... hats off whisky jury 😉 Rating takes the price into account.

The many faces of rum - maybe, the best, what you can find in rum industry. Worthy park, 10 y.o. lats go. Nose: Great ! Again, so much fruits. Bananas, melon, candied fruits, marmalade, dry apricots, litchi. After that, you can find bubblegum, Spanish cedar wood, vanilla, grapefruit (highly intense), chalk, paint, some oil & touch if esters. Palace: Rich fruity bomb ! Tons of tropical fruits, banans, pineapple, mango, candies, grapefruit, some vanilla & spices. Need add a few drops of water i think. Delicious, fruity combo, with hint of esters & oil paint. Aftertaste: long, really fruity. Sweet. Littlebit pungent, spicy & salty. Ester touch. Conclusion: Fantastic fruity bomb. Worthy Park still making wonderful rums, even without high level of esters. Whisky Jury - quality standard!
