Aroma visualization from community tastings
Companero Ron Gran Reserva
Sip it neat and the nose is the best part — banana, orange, apricot and honey, with a little chemical funk behind it. The palate is where people cool off: oak, roast and burnt sugar take over, and at 40% several tasters find it thin and watered-down. A 15-year Jamaica–Trinidad blend that promises more on the nose than it keeps in the glass.
The community says- Fruity, honeyed nose
- Tastes watered-down
- Thin, short finish

How does Companero Ron Gran Reserva taste?
Aggregated from 69 community reviews.
Fruity nose, thin watery palate The nose wins fans (fruit, honey, Jamaican funk), but most agree the palate falls off — dry, oaky and noticeably diluted. Interesting but unbalanced.
People who enjoy a fruity, funky nose and don't mind a lighter palate

This is definitely a worthy park influenced rum blend , loads of Jamaican funk that gives beautiful natural caramel , vanilla and smoke flavours .

Unfortunately, too stretched. The taste is good. Nothing sensational but good. But unfortunately very short-winded. The rum tastes very watered down

Nevýrazný rum, slabé akoby zriedené chute.

The taste is interesting, but it tastes diluted or watered down. Too bad, but it's not enough for 70 for me.

Nez qui pue la selle/cuir pas très agréable, en bouche le coté cuir / boisé et terreux sont présents... personne j’aime pas trop étrange!!!
Review by Thunderbird
An der Nase sehr fruchtig und intensiv… am Gaumen überwiegt das Holz und Röstige… zum Schluss etwas bitter… trotz der Verdünnung noch recht gehaltvoll aber nicht sehr ausgewogen

The nose is far better than the taste. Some sugar, more bitterness, alcohol an water. Only an average rum.

Original impressions from 2017 rum calendar. Nose: ** Taste: ** Overall: ** ”Whiskeysmak.” Five years since I firat sampled this rum and I gotta say I don’t find the taste of whiskey at all. My younger me probably got it all wrong :) anyway the nose is banana with some chemical smell to it. Palate is banana and barrel with some sweetness in the back. A little in the dry side.
Review by Tim
Rather weak, hardly any flavors present, especially in the mouth and aftertaste. The base spirit was probably already not good, but the rum was watered down too much, but still has a rather alcoholic sharpness.
