An Australian rum is already a surprise, and this one leans into it: white-wine cask maturation you can taste, with pear, green apple and grape running through it. It drinks spicy and herbal, tannins from the wine and bourbon casks giving it grip. At 57% and only four years old it's young and a bit wild, but a splash of water pulls out the grapes.

Für nur 4y Reifung überraschend rund. Das bourbon Fass + Rotwein Fass im blend kommt mit schönen würzigen Tanninen zur Geltung und bringt eher mineralische Kräuter Noten. Erinnert an grappa und amarone Fässer. Runde Sache!

Auf der Village'26 bei den Jungs von FRC probieren können. Für 4 Jahre gar nicht mal so schlecht, sogar erstaunlich gut. Als ich ihn als Mixer probiert hatte, schmeckte ich sogar Kirsche, sehr abgefahren. Für 50€ kann man da nicht viel falsch machen.

Hanse Spirit Hamburg Februar 2026. Ist wohl eine unbekannte Destille aus Australien. Aber echt in Ordnung. Sehr würzig und kräuterig, etwas Fass lässt sich auch erkennen. Echt ganz Ordnung dieser Rum.

Leckerer Rum. Gute Schärfe. Rotwein Nachgeschmack nicht aufdringlich. Würde ihn nicht kaufen (Probe aus Nürnberg 2026) aber war nicht schlecht.
