Sip it neat and give it room — this Trinidadian needs a good rest in the glass to open. Then come the TDL house markers: heavy mint, dried fruit, wood and roasted nuts, with rubber and glue humming in the background. Fruit shows too, from pineapple to darker berry and cacao. At 65.7% the heat is real, and one taster found it a touch sugary.

#6356 17.02.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while watching "Body Cam". This is a nice and pretty well balanced release with some nice fruit and glue notes. There is also some rubber amd mint in the mix, but overall pretty nice once rested for a while.

Ein 2016er T.D.L., könnte spannend werden, habe ich mir gedacht. Falsch gedacht. Typische Aromen der Destille. Für mich leider wie in einem Zuckerwasserfilm eingehüllt. Guter Rum, für mich reicht ein Sample. Danke @Skyfly

And another fat T.D.L hinterher. Fällt mir schwer etwas hierzu zu schreiben, genauso wie bei einem Hampden :) Jedenfalls wieder sehr übelst minzig, etwas tropische Früchte gibt es am Gaumen wohl auch noch.

Ziemlich kräftiger T.D.L, der geschmacklich die typischen Marker wie tropische Früchte, Minze und Holz mitbringt; im Vergleich zu anderen ist er aber minder komplex und der Alkohol recht kräftig. Das PLV passt aber

I think this rum did sit in the glass for a good 40 minutes before the review, but this rum really needs to sit in the glass for rum to open up. On the nose: Roasted, woody notes, minty notes. Some polish/glue notes in the background. Little bit of honey notes. Grape notes and pineapple notes once you put your nose inside the glass and wait a little bit. Taste: Strong and you get some minty and woody notes at first. Lovely mix of fruity notes from berries, orange, pineapple and darker notes from cacao and leather and some nutty notes. As the rum opens up you get more minty, leather, cacao and nutty notes as the main notes. Finish: Warm. Woody, minty and leather notes. Some light cocoa notes in the end. Medium-long finish. Im glad that i did wait this rum to open up, because the end result is brilliant. Obviously the integration of alcohol could still be better and that drops the score, but i really enjoyed this rum. Its something i could be drinking in colder winter months.

#1709 31-12-2025 - Rate 8.9 Second 8 year TDL release from The Colours of Rum this year. The first one was amazing and at a very affordable price. Can this one match. Yes and more. Nose of dried fruit, leather and wood. Palate of dried fruits, leather, wood and roasted nuts. Aroma ovocno, taka mineralno medova. Citim tam nejake bobulove ovocie, hrozno, nejaky citrus, ananas, a trochu stareho sudu. Chut velmi vyrazne ovocna, praktici sa to opakuje. Akurat pri vacsom dusku vystreluje mata a trosku tie mineralne olejove tonuy. Plus sa objavia aj legendarne fialove bonpari :D Zaver paradoxne nieje az taky dlhy ale ostava tam mint a uz spominana olejovost, lahky alkohol. To mi staci :D : D
