CDI Caraibes
Sips easy neat or over ice, but most people treat it as an uncomplicated everyday pour. It's light and pale, with tropical fruit, raisin, vanilla and a touch of smoke over a soft, sweetened body. One taster called it a "light entry-level blend," and that's the honest read: pleasant, a little thin, and a good first step for showing someone rum can be more than supermarket bottles.

Fruchtig, reif, ausgewogen.

5:The nose is light from the outset. The molasses takes off quickly rum is even a little smoky, with accents of metal or petroleum. The toasty woodiness gives way to spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla, clove and pepper. The alcohol that escapes on aeration has something very fruity and a little acidic about it, bringing to mind ripe red fruit. The rum then settles on softer notes of vanilla and buttery caramel... But all very weak and faint! 5,5:On the palate is round, but weak again. Licorice molasses are accompanied by banana and salted butter caramel with some sweet spices of this simple, light palate. 5:The finish we notice molasses with its mild sweetness and a little smoke. Well, a disappointment..

Got a sample of this rum from RR Tasting Club some time ago. Compagnie des Indes Caraibes is a blend of rums from Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad. The color is quite pale and I haven’t found anything about aging, but I suppose it’s a quite young rum. I don’t recognize rum from Guyana or Barbados in the blend, so I suppose it’s mostly rum from Trinidad in the blend. Overall it’s too bland for my taste and nothing to write home about.

A pastry nose with Grand Marnier and alcohol that's present but not overpowering. A discreet entry on the palate, then a beautiful rise in power, but it quickly subsides. Overripe banana. A longer finish than CDI Latino. A rum marked by orange, or rather Grand Marnier.

Smaakt alcoholerig

A light entry-level blend, unfortunately sweetened. Citrus and flowery aromas I attribute to the Trinidad component, the slightly bitter note to Guyana. The Citrus is quite dominant, but not to the level of certain artificially flavored products.

For me unfortunately too short and too diluted

Nice rum if you want a sipper that is not complex and a little sweet

...light drop, you can drink every day, but you do not have to...too expensive for what is offered.

Kraftig smag! Ikke sød.

Pleasant rum, but i prefer my rums a bit more aged. Finish is still quite long. Quite dry on the palate. After having revisited this rum, during a tasting with several CDIs, I found that this rum does hold up quite well despite the low ABV and the added cane syrup. But maybe it is due to that these other CDIs are rather a disappointment.
