Toucan Saint Maurice No. 4
Curious drinkers who like young, raw agricole-style cane juice will find the most here — grassy, sharp, with lemon, fresh cane and a woody finish. Barely a year old, and it tastes like it: many compare it to an unaged white agricole or even homemade schnaps. The reduction to 40% leaves it feeling thin and boozy, more spirit than polished sipper.

Young, sharp, grassy French Guiana cane spirit Divisive and mostly underwhelming. Fans of raw, grassy young cane juice see promise, but most tasters find it sharp, flat and too alcohol-forward, with scores ranging from love-it to poured down the sink.

It’s a very young Agricole. The short aging in ex Armagnac barrels is made in Toulouse, France. The aroma is quite nice, then it’s sharp at first in mouth, but after a while the tastes becomes more like the aroma and stays so during the rather long finish.

Tastes like an unaged white Agricole.

I don't think this rum is so bad, judging by the reviews I expected worse. It has a fruity note on the nose and palate. The finish is too long for me personally and the alcohol is too obvious.

Very young agricole, a 4-year barrel crude (the first old rum from the Toucan brand). It’s my first rum from French Guyana. An interesting nose, a little sharp at the beginning and very average in taste.
Review by Rumpalumpa
Unfortunately, I still don't like the French style that much. This one is also very dry and is dominated by herbal notes. However, fresh fruit is also present, albeit with less flavor.

not a neat sipper for me, but certainly good in fruity mixes

Sample no.15 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2022. This is not my cup of tea, same fermented wine/tequila nose and palate as other agricole rums.
Review by TheJackDrop
Rather interesting, but not necessarily to my taste. Woody finish

Taking a few points down after retaste and never again. 15th sample of a 24 days of rum calendar. 👃 is a 👎 for me. My sample had a weird stain on the inside of the bottle that got cleaned when the bottle was moved around leaving the rum a little foggy. It smells like a home made schnaps, booze, pálenka. Reminded me of my grandfather's slivovica made of plums. Almost 1:1. Tongue is a bit better, speck of sweetness, taste of home made schnaps too, fruity distillate underlinded by sharp taste of weird grassy rotten thing that I cannot describe. Not the worst but not the best rum either, definitely interesting though. It also reminds me of Johnie Walker Red Label that I fucking hate from the bottom of my soul. This is better but there is that awful taste and smell of ,,used wet sock,, or ,,used dental swab from the wound of tooth extraction,,.

Fresh nose with cane and lemon, on the palate the cane is always present with grape and banana in turn. The strong reduction is very damaging.

Gräs, lite örter, frukt och vanilj i doften. Smaken är skarp, torr och gräsig.

Decent agricole. Don't know how much I would sip this, but its bright, grassy notes could add an interesting dynamic to a cocktail. Smells like a wine.
Review by MJ72
Fruity basic aroma, fallen fruit and solvent, rather flat overall. Vanilla with light wood and coconut. Short and flat finish.

too much alcohol. like a vodka nose
Review by Jonas Kofod
Somewhat sharp and unbalanced. I miss some dark spices or other character to balance out the bitterness.
Review by Pascal Gwada
Boooof.... A pale yellow color like white wine, a fresh nose without more, a very flat mouth on lemon and then... that's it. Advent calendar 2022.

Nosing not of my liking, first sip wasn't the best bit it's growing on me. No real finish present
