Spirit Gallery T.D.L HEAVY 2009
"Viel Minze, Pfirsich" is how one member sums it up, and that's the core: mint sliding into menthol, red berries, peach and yellow fruit, with toasted wood and spice underneath. At 65.1% it's dense, dry and demanding — several tasters call it concentrated and not an easy sipper. A few find the alcohol a touch loud; most think it's well integrated.

Heavy, minty Trinidad rum with red fruit Loved by TDL fans for its menthol-and-red-fruit heft and depth. A couple find the high ABV slightly overpowering, and some rate earlier Spirit Gallery releases higher.

Review by Mirco
Powerful TDL with a clear, rather serious style. Dark fruit, molasses, leather and spicy wood on the nose, with a slight mineral note. Dense and dry on the palate with spice, tobacco, some bitter orange and a noticeable woody spiciness. Medium mint level. Concentrated and demanding, less focused on elegance than on structure. Not a simple sipper, but an honest, powerful Trinidad rum with depth and character.

Enjoying some samples while listening to some nice new Trance music. Thanks for the samples Henrik, you are the best. This is a very good TDL and I love the fruitiness and earthy notes in it. The mint notes are very nice and medium intense. Overall very good balance between the elements.

Unterbewertet! Jedenfalls in meinen Augen.

Review by Skyfly

Offers much of the typical heavy TDL profile with intense mint aromas, dark fruits and tart wood and spice notes. Quite intense sweetness, which on the one hand is conducive to the drinking flow, but on the other is somewhat overwhelming. Thanks to its sophisticated complexity, however, this is a convincing release, even if it is clearly behind the first TDL from Spirit Gallery.

Viel Minze, Pfirsich. Gefällt mir sehr gut!

Wow wow. I am very surprised that I am the only one that this reminds me some 2001 TDLs. This is really outstanding gem, dirty at the beginning and more fruity and silk by the time. Alcohol is absolutely not present. I am Buying another bottle and compare with other TDL samples but I will probably raise it to 9.1. This deserves it. After several "average" TDLs on the market in recent month this is finally the one who deserves my attention. My TDL number 85. Good job Ben 👍

Very interesting and quite complex, but with the well-known New Grove notes. Excellent work!
Review by Thefrenchagave
On the nose: Very greedy, with pep. Ripe exotic fruit, lovely acidity that brings freshness, almost pastry-like, and a real fruity sensation. On the palate: A lovely contrast between the fruit and a touch of menthol that adds relief. It's expressive, intense, carried by tangy fruit and a fine structure, with menthol as a common thread.
