Spirit Gallery Grays New Grove 100% Tropical 2015
Opinions genuinely divide on this one. Fans call it a New Grove "réinventé" — rich, oily, fruity with solvent, spice and brown sugar, exceptionally well-integrated for 60.3%. Skeptics say the wood dominates and the usual Mauritius markers (apricot, blackcurrant, mint) hide behind an oaky, drying grip. Most agree it needs a long air rest to open up.
The community says- Rich oily texture
- Well-integrated alcohol
- Wood can dominate

Clearly a reinvented New Grove profile, close to Jamaican on the nose, ultra-fat on the palate, almost Guyanese on the finish... A truly complex tasting, between sugar, sweetness, fruit, solvents, orange and beautiful spices. Perhaps lacking a touch on the finish to hit 9.3. Superb cask!

Wow – what a bomb launched by Spirit Gallery!!🤤😎 Chapeau🤙🏻 I really enjoyed this rum a lot. Nose: A generous basket of ripe fruits, accompanied by a subtle hint of solvent, cashew nuts, and roasted almonds, topped with delicate shavings of dark chocolate. Palate: A fresh menthol and minty kick right from the start—like the first bite of a minty chewing gum. This is followed by layers of various fruits and gentle barrel notes. The wood stays nicely in the background, and the alcohol is exceptionally well integrated. Finish: Long and delicious, with lingering mint, pipe tobacco, and juicy peaches… simply yummy 🤤🤤🤤

#6378 21.02.2026 Enjoying some samples whilt listening to some nice new Trance musik. Thanks for the samples Henrik, you are the best. What a nice rum with a nice price tag to go with it. Fruity with some nice solvents and good wood and ABV integration. Needs to rest for a while to really open up.

Review by Skyfly
Review by Schnubbii
Review by Jakob
The alcohol is a little too powerful, which makes the otherwise pleasing profile too incisive - apart from that, mint, caramel, wood, spices, a little tobacco and yellow fruit are evident, i.e. a very Grays-typical taste. A good Mauritius release, but Grays offers this in a much more balanced form.

It's sooooo good!!! A very appealing color, with a seductive nose of yellow fruits and some subtle red fruit notes on the second nose. Aeration (1 hour 35 minutes) is almost essential to allow it to fully express its potential. The palate is less indulgent, with notes of apricot, a certain astringency, and an appreciable acidity. A beautiful finish of brown sugar and tobacco.

Review by Jacques etdom

Superbe réussite ce New Grove !!!
