Swell de Spirits Advent Calendar 2025: A real fruit bomb! The nose is primarily fruit, with vanilla, young wood, and a hint of botanicals. The palate is then hit with tropical fruits and esters. It is buttery and slightly salty at the same time. There is also a hint of strawberry, which can still be tasted in the finish. The alcohol is barely noticeable. A great rum for beginners!

#6997 05.07.2026 Time to relax after my wifes birthday guests have left. Listening nto some nice EDM on Spotify at the same time. Price to quality you get a lot for your money here. Funky and intense profile with polish, rubber, spice, fruits, honey, olive, light salt and roasted wood.

The Galion grands arômes are rums I can really like because of their fruity side, but I might not like them when they have too strong a smoky note. Here you can clearly recognize the distillery with its big basket of very ripe fruits and a light smoky note with a bit of synthetic.

Tasted during Rhum Fest Paris 2026. This was a very good discovery, it's my first encounter with Distillerie du Galion and I really like this profile. I got a blend of tropical fruits with a pastry-like sweetness, that works very well. Additionally, this is a very good price quality ratio.

Rhum Grand Arôme, Distillerie du Galion, Assemblage de 4 fûts Ex-Bourbon : que dire ? c'est le funk à son apogée, j'ai adoré cette cuvée, simple, gourmande, fruitée. Pas grand chose à redire a 65€ c'est une belle affaire.

Wer das Galion GA Profil mag, kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Typisches Profil mit dem überreifen Früchten mit fleischig-salzigen Anteilen, gleichzeitig durch die Verdünnung Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden.

With Swell from Spirits, I'm rarely disappointed, and I'm not with this one. A cask strength Grand Arôme, you can't mistake it: a rather rare molasses rum for Martinique. Just as powerful on the nose as on the palate!

Tasted at Sanctus Spiritus ‘26 GA from Martinique, that always gets my attention. The glass opens with that typical combination of stewed berries, foremost raspberry, lighter woods, spice and grass. As we smell further we tumble into more oppressive elements of heavily charred campfire wood, varnish and green olives. In the mouth a nice sum of flavours which opens with stewed berries, charred wood, varnish and lots of clove. The sweets are heavier than on the nose, which is needed to balance the experience. The back of the palate is more musty and herbal leading into flowery aspects with light mint and oregano. The finish is again heavier and sweeter with notes of molasses and raspberry, ending in cloves and more oregano.

Overripe tropical fruit, mango, banana, chemicals, esters, varnish, light sweet-sourness, olives, sweet spices, a hint of dairy products. I thought the previous Galion was better, richer, rounder, but this series is simply great value for money.
