Famille Ricci Unique Blend No. 7 2025
Blackcurrant is the hook here — a bold cassis note nobody expects from a Trinidad-Nicaragua blend with a Hampden finish. Around it sit dried herbs, black tea, menthol and darker leather-chocolate tones. At 65.5% the alcohol stays remarkably integrated; several tasters couldn't believe the proof. One member called it his coup de coeur, though a couple found the herbal edge distracting.

#6956 24.06.2026 Had a hard 50 km test on the bike today and it went really well. Relaxing with some samples while watching "Moonshiners". Thank you for the samples Petter. A very decent rum with a good price tag. Fruity and floral with light medicinal, chocolate, nutts, mint and roasted wood.

Famille Ricci Unique Blend X-Tasting #7: Wow, this is a crazy blend that works amazingly well. Blackcurrant (wherever it comes from) paired with tea, herbs, menthol, and darker aromas like leather. Chapeau — this is a cool blend that stands out from the crowd!

This is blend of Trinidad (TDL 2007) and Nicaragua (Ten Cane 2008) On the nose: Toasted woody notes, leather notes, light chocolate notes and light vanilla notes at first. Once the rum opens up you also get fruity notes like blackcurrant notes for example and some tea notes aswell. Maybe some light burnt sugar notes in the background. Taste: Fruity, but blackcurrant forward at first. Woody notes, roasted notes and leather after that. Menthol notes in the background. Light chocolate notes. Light nutty notes. Nice complexity of notes. Finish: Fresh, woody, toasted and little bit of menthol/minty. Light red fruits. Tea notes. Light chocolate notes. Nice complexity in the finish. Finished quite dry. Medium-long finish. Between the Unique Blend rums so far (No. 1- No. 7) this is the one that offers complexity compared to others and in overall i really enjoyed sipping this rum.

Unique Blend 2025 n°7 - 65,5 % - France Blend: Trinidad (TDL 2007 + Ten Cane 2008) + Nicaragua 16 yo finish Hampden H On paper, this blend is bold and complex. Hampden finish, TDL and Ten Cane... a bit WTF! On the palate, good length and good integration of the alcohol, but I wasn't totally won over. Herbaceous notes envelop the whole and unsettle me a little.
