It’s number eleven in the Foursquare EC Series. It consists of a blend from both Pot and Coffey stills distillate aged for twelve years in by ex-Bourbon and ex-Madeira casks before blended at ABV 48%. Overall an intense, complex, pleasant and any other superlatives that comes to your mind.

07.11.2025 Had an extra sample standing around so I finished it off. Still a pretty OK release and I hav a bottle on my self as well. -------------- Just like the other exceptional casks this one shines pretty well for me. The nose is fruity with vanilla and there are some solvents there and oak in the end. The palate lives up to the nose with a very fruity touch. Pepper is very obvious and nice followed by caramel and spices. There is also a nice and oaky touch. The finish is nice and has vanille, citrus and oak. Leave the glass for next day and dip your nose into it and you'll get rewarded with a wonderful complex nose.

Classic FS profile meets Madeira. Wine. Baking spices. Typical glue and solvents. Round. Good! But is FS not getting a bit boring? The marge of differences/variety between different FS bottles is quite small...

Typical Madeira notes in the finish which I find worlds better than the Real McCoy Limited Edition Madeira cask.

Varnished wood, black tea and mango on the nose. But the whole is rather weak and a little spicier than the Premise. The palate is a little acqueous, and the aromas are not marked. A rum that doesn't say much. The finish is surprisingly long and persistent, despite the aromatic weakness. Not as good as the Premise, except for the finish. The balance and drinkability are there, however.

Lovely nose, very pleasant and rounded. Madeira cask and Foursquare just go really well together. Good load of fruit and wood too. Elegant and velvety on the palate, no off-notes, but a few more percent ABV would have been nice. Maybe a bit too oaky.

8,6:On the nose, glue, solvents, dried fruits, coconut, orange peel, toasted wood notes, sweet, with caramel, roasted nuts, chocolate, spicy with baking spices, vanilla, smoky, barrel impact is strong. On aeration, pastry, biscuits, leather are out, metallic patina, tropical, red fruits, the molasses is earthy with tobacco, dark with black tea. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is round, elegant, oily, slightly diluted with toasted oak notes like caramel, perhaps butterscotch, sweet, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, leather, spicy with baking spices, nutmeg, when well aired, smoky, charred, medicinal with glue, fruity with coconut, dried apricots and raisins, later citrus fruits, pineapple. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, buttery with toasted oak notes like nuts, caramel, burnt sugar, chocolate, leather, smoky, charred, spicy, a bit medicinal, fruity with coconut, tropical fruits, dried and citrus fruits, as the molasses is fresh with tea, grassy, flowery.

Verdict: bourbon-style rum, the esters on the nose make the difference. Rounded, sweet, on baking spice, vanilla, oak, orange, yellow fruit. 83 points Nose: a modest amount of esters, as in glue, then peach, orange zest, baking spice, wood, tobacco, earth. Palate: oily, surprisingly rounded, vanilla, juicy on orange juice, a bit of sugar, yellow fruit. Finish: mildly spicy (baking spice), woody, a bit of honey, orange and apricot.

A relatively light Foursquare. The nose is extremely round and pastry-like, with soft spices (vanilla, nutmeg, pepper), chocolate, cookie, coconut, dried fruit and red berries. A hint of glue enhances this nose of gourmet goodness, bordering on overdose. The palate is a little drier, but still with that typical Bajan style. Coconut, dried fruit, caramel, sweet spices, chocolate and subtle coffee notes are all present. The alcohol is well integrated, tamed mainly by the greediness of the profile. The finish is of good length, rather dry and fruity. Spice and oak add character to a sweet, opulent profile. A good Foursquare, (too) simple, (too) basic, even by distillery standards.

very solid & tasty, but for me a bit too woody and quite alcoholic on the nose.

Beautiful foursquare I liked in nuance better than the mount gay Madeira cask I tried before.

On the nose: Madeira cask influence is there. Fruity, sweet and woody. Balanced in a typical Foursquare way. Mild on the nose due the abv. Taste: Sweet with caramel and vanilla. Woody. Then you get spices like pepper in there. Very round and easy to sip. Finish: Woody. Dried fruits and little bit of spices. Easy first rum for someone who is looking for his first Foursquare ECS series rum where to start and maybe is a new to world of rum.
Review by Filip Šikula
Aging in Madeira barrels has given this eleventh installment of the ecs series an unmistakable flavor profile that emerges after a few moments in the mouth. Aromas of tea and tropical fruit. The complexity of the rum is fine, unnecessarily low abv. Pity.
