"This does not taste as the TDLs I have tasted before," one taster admitted at a birthday flight — and that split runs through the reviews. Most find yellow fruit (mango, papaya, pear), a dezent mint that shows late, and the distillery's classic tar-and-petrol edge. It needs a few minutes and some hand-warming to open. Balanced, powerful, fruit-forward for 25 years old.

Full-bodied aromatics with a multi-layered profile that unfolds its full complexity on the palate. Sweetness of caramel and fruits, as well as freshness of citrus aromas and mint, a bit of vegetal-earthy heaviness from tobacco and tea – a great blend and a finely structured flavor profile.

#5912 31.10.2025 Attending Tom and Barbli's wedding in Belgium and it was a monster of an event with a very nice after party the following day. This is also a very good release with a nice fruity and minty touch. It takes a bit of time to really open up the mint notes, but a bit of hand warming it brought it along. Overall balance is very good and I really like it a lot. I have also secured a bottle of this one and I can't wait to open it.

8,5:On the nose, roasted wood notes with chocolate, nuts, cream toffee, spicy with anise, confectionery, fresh, minty molasses, some tar, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration green fruits like pear and apple arise, citrus fruits and cherry, the molasses is flowery, vegetal with tea and green peppers. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is fresh, minty, slightly alcoholic and intense, oily with roasted wood notes like pastry, biscuits, cookie dough, caramelized, oaky, spicy with cinnamon, peppery, salty, fruity like a marmelade with citrus, cherry and peaches.When the rum is well oxidized, quite strong violet pops out. 8,4:The finish is long, dry&tannic, oily with roasted wood notes, smoky, very nutty, the molasses is minty, candied, the fruits less strong, some medicinal notes are present with phenol, rubber.

Wieder einmal ein guter T.D.L aus dem 2000er Jahrgang. Ist er an der Nase noch recht verhalten…zeigt er seine wahre Stärke am Gaumen und im Abgang. Eine schöne frische Minizigkeit gepaart mit roter Frucht umspielen den Mundraum… dieses hält sich auch im Abgang…

Very powerful TDL with a focus on the dark, woody, roasty aromas. The typical TDL mint note is rather subtle and perceptible in the finish. Alcohol noticeable. Overall, it needs a few minutes in the glass, then it becomes more accessible

Sehr spannend. Für mich nicht ganz klassischer TDL. Nicht so viel Minze, eher eine Mischung aus Foursquare, Minze, Pfirsich. Aus Erinnerung ähnlich zu dem Rx 5971, der wahrscheinlich ein Angostura ist, und für mich wegen der Pfirsich Note in Erinnerung geblieben ist.

A very round, very balanced TDL. Tropical fruits with rather subtle mint in a noble, almost perfect balance, without being boring. I like it better than the two 2002s for Macau.

Bright, fruity nose. Tropical fruit flavors. Mango, papaya. Not a very long aftertaste, but pleasant.

Degustation masterclass (notes a confirmer): Nez relativement fermé. S ouvre avec l aeration. Fruits jaunes, mangue, leger caramel. La bouche fait etat de beaucoup de finesse, toujours sur les marqueurs présents au nez. Bon tdl, mais j aurais apprécié quelques watts supplémentaires.

🥃 TWJ – TDL 2000 – 52,8% Un nez plutôt discret… mais la vraie démonstration se fait en bouche. 👉 Belle intensité, 👉 Finale longue et maîtrisée, 👉 Jolie touche de fruits rouges avec une pointe mentholée, 👉 Équilibre général très réussi. Encore une fois : un TDL 2000 comme je les aime. Élégant, efficace, précis.
