Velier Bielle Rhum Rhum Libération Integrale 2017 2010
Dark chocolate, leather and dried fruit lead here, with candied citrus and a green, earthy sugarcane edge underneath. This 2017 Bielle leans heavily on cask maturity — several tasters call it the woodiest, least fruity of the Integrale run, with a dry, tannic finish and licorice-menthol lift. The 58.4% is remarkably well tucked in; more than one person guessed it blind as Jamaica or old Guyana.
The community says- Great alcohol integration

Dry, wood-forward agricole with chocolate depth Loved as an elegant, wood-forward agricole with chocolate and leather depth. A few fans of the series miss the "fruchtige Wahnsinn" of other Integrales and find this one drier and more oak-led.

Very interesting agricole which is quite different from what we usually see. The nose is rather dry with wood, spices but also some fruits. The palate is more round with salted caramel, vanilla and overripe fruits. A very good rum!

RumX-Adventskalender 25.12.2023 Blind tasting: Jamaica on the nose, really old Guyana on the palate. Another blend? I'm at a bit of a loss. But very happy with this rum, it's a lip-smacker! 😋 😋 😋 The fact that it's a Bielle in the end doesn't speak against my sense of taste, but in favor of these exquisite agricoles.

RumX Advent 25.12.23 Perfume, warm wood, sweet dried fruits, vanilla, aromatic tobacco, toasty scent, leather, natural vegetality, crisp nutty. Not sure if I would have recognized Bielle blindly, but the characteristics are relatively clear. It is a good representative of the distillery. Complex, good drinking strength, but it won't be my favorite profile. Retasting: Good rum, I liked it a little better

RumX Calendar Day 26 Bonus Sample What a more than worthy conclusion. Thanks again to the organizing team. All I can say about the rum itself is that it was extremely tasty and dangerously drinkable. Edit: after tasting the RX314 yesterday, I have to say that unfortunately it doesn't quite come close to the RX314

At the beginning, nail polish and solvent. Then delicate yet intense woodiness. Dried fruit and complex citrus. Alcohol integration exemplary. Continues similarly in the mind. Long, great finish. The Liberation DNA is clearly recognizable, but it lacks the fruity madness of the other Integrales. This one scores with wood maturity in perfection. However, the bar is very high, for me by far the weakest of the series.🥲🥲

Wow, a great Bielle. The nose is full of aromas such as wood, chocolate and leather. On the palate there is also a very light, really great sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel can be recognized here. Great rum.

Tasting of the 2015 and 2017. I will not be able to determine a winner. We have the two very good farm rums but I'm not thrilled with the wine barrel finish. I much prefer the rasta morris on this one.

Very fruity on the nose. Complemented by some leather, chocolate and slightly grassy. Smells very fresh. The taste is also very fresh and light. A slight sweetness comes to the fore with notes of vanilla, chocolate and salted caramel. Very good rum agricole.

Integral tasting 2024: Insane compared to the 2017 with 45%. Already more dominant on the nose, then a quantum leap on the tongue. The alcohol is really perfectly integrated. The 8.8 remains.

This rum really had to grow on me. After several sips, I fell more and more in love with it. This is actually the best explanation for me personally: "Nail polish and solvent at the beginning. Then delicate but intense woodiness. Dried fruit and complex citrus." The alcohol integration is perfect. It leaves a wonderful warm glow on the palate and lips. Perfect alcohol integration. The finish lingers beautifully. A little menthol and dry. On the nose, this rum doesn't convince me; there's something about it that doesn't appeal to me.

RumX Calendar 2023: Wow. You have to come up with Agricole first. The sugar cane is hidden behind a lot of cocoa, so I'm wavering between milk and dark chocolate. Some citrus fruit on the palate, otherwise spicy-floral elements set the tone here. Nicely roasted with a hint of leather, slight bitterness without being distracting. Could really be located in Guyana. Alcohol is also well integrated. Great.

8,8:On the nose, leather, roasted wood notes like chocolate, almonds, solvents, perhaps rubber, herbaceous and flowery sugarcane, dried fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, candied citrus fruits are out, other roasted notes like marzipan, cream toffee, cocoa, caramelized, spicy allspice and new sugarcane tones-earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea, minty...great complexity. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is tasty with herbaceous sugarcane, mineral, vegetal, later flowery ,sweet with honey and darker with black tea, meaty roasted wood notes like leather, dark chocolate, later cocoa, roasted nuts, caramelized, spicy with vanilla and salty, oaky, slightly bitter, fruity with citrus and dried fruits...We might notice some menthol, when the rum is oxidized. 8,7:The finish is long, dry and tannic, waxy, slightly medicinal with menthol, the barrel impact is strong, with dark roasted wood notes, pairing vegetal, flowery sugarcane, earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea, slightly dark with licorice and citrus, yellow and dried fruits.

Flo's birthday tasting Rhum Liberation 2024-05-17: Among today's Integrale releases, I'd put dull 2017 third. Better than 2020s, but doesn't quite come close to 2017s and 2012s.
Review by mto75
Tasted together with the Integrale 2020. The 2020 is a bit fresher on the nose (herbs) and more pronounced on the citrus, the 2017 is a bit more pronounced on the dried fruit and caramel. On the palate, the 2017 is a bit rounder. The 2020 comes through more on the tannins and oak barrel. Overall, the 2017 is minimally ahead.

Review by Mirco
