Famille Ricci The Titan 2025

"A choc des titans," as one French taster put it, and members mean it — a four-way blend of very old Jamaican, Trinidad and Caroni rums. Roasted pineapple and esters, minty diesel, tar and dark fruit, with oak that's well folded in. Several call the nose the peak. A few feel the parts didn't add up to more than their sum, and nearly everyone flags the price.

Aggregated from 37 community reviews.

Complex old multi-distillery blend, sip it slow Deeply loved for its layered nose and balance of Jamaican fruit, TDL menthol and Caroni tar. The recurring catch: you can't really taste the age, and it's expensive.

People who know their Jamaican esters and Caroni tar and want to pick apart a blend

The bomb! While the nose is largely dominated by TDL fruit, with Caroni tar in the background, the palate gradually brings Jamaica to the front of the palate, with pineapple in particular. A good pinch of spice, a finish of fruit, menthol and intense spicy notes. The wood is quite well blended, almost masked by the power of the rest. A titanic vintage!

The Titan….der Name kündigt Großes an… mal schauen.

#6580 31.03.2026 I need a break from all the Dictadors, so off to something different. Listening to Diana Leah, Digicult, Rank1 and Astrix on Spotify. This is a really good bottling even though the price tag is a bit steep. The nose is intense and fruity with light diesel, roasted wood, cherry, peach and light tar. The palate is well balanced with roasted wood, cherry, mango, diesel, tar and light smoke. The finish is very long and warm with roasted wood, light mint, faint smoke, mango and light tar.

Aged rum

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 16,000 Rums

Aged rum is where the spirit earns its complexity. In a tropical warehouse a barrel loses 6 to 10 percent of its contents to evaporation every year, which is why an 8-year Caribbean rum can taste deeper than a 20-year Scotch. This page gathers every rum on RumX that has spent real time in wood, with community ratings to separate the genuinely mature from the merely dark.
