Robert Watson Limited Old Jamaica Vintage Single Cask Rum 1977
One member pegs it as an "altes Long Pond Profil" — old Jamaican, but leaning wood and molasses more than fruit. Expect an oily, creamy body with dark chocolate, old wood, cherry and a little glue, plus faint caramel and cinnamon. At 61% the alcohol sits surprisingly quiet, and a few tasters say the 31 years read almost like an old cognac. A rare bottle you'll only meet if it crosses your path.

How does Robert Watson Limited Old Jamaica Vintage Single Cask Rum 1977 taste?
Aggregated from 13 community reviews.
Oily, woody old Jamaican with cherry and glue Highly regarded as a smooth, complex old Jamaican, though one taster felt the long maturation doesn't fully show and called it merely solid. Scarce and hard to find.

#4755 22.06.2024 Nice tasting afternoon and evening with Hannes at the shop in Odense. Nose Balanced, fresh, fruity, banana, spice, faint caramel, faint honey, light cinnamon. Palate Oily, balanced, complex, light wood, fruity, light peaches, light cherry, faint leather, spices, faint floral. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, faint caramel, faint licorice, spice, faint plums. This is a great rum though in the high price range. I can only recommend you try it if it crosses your path.

On the nose, this aged rum doesn't seem that old at first. Peach and cherry harmonize beautifully with light spices and caramel. On the palate, it is beautifully oily with additional leather, oak, and dark chocolate, which lingers for a long time.

Fruchtige Nase, wirkt etwas verschlossen.

On the nose, little fruit, peach, some cherry. Honey sweetness and beautiful spice. Alcohol very restrained. On the palate, very nice oily consistency, mmmhhh, very smooth. Spicy with more peach, cherries, some leather, and good wood. Almost reminiscent of an old cognac. Great stuff.

Altes Long Pond Profil. Wenig Frucht, mehr Holz und Melasse.
