Départ de la gamme permanente vieillie de Montebello, ce rhum se veut plutôt bonne patte et accessible pour le terroir agricole. Le nez a une palette aromatique assez large couvrant les agrumes, les fruits secs, les notes agricoles (végétales et herbacées), les épices et le boisé. La douceur est de mise avec un nez plutôt léger mais sec. En bouche, le profil typique des rhums de style français ressort : des fruits secs, un côté végétal, terreux et herbacé, de la canne à sucre, des épices plus marquées et un bois bien imbriqué forment l’ensemble du profil aromatique. La texture épaisse en bouche rajoute du corps et un peu de gourmandise. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est de longueur honorable et se retrouve sur le même registre sec et agricole. Quelques notes fruitées sur les agrumes et plus vanillées réapparaissent et redonnent un peu de forme au profil. Un rhum qui, du haut de ses 3 ans de vieillissement, fait une bonne impression au global sans être pour autant révolutionnaire.
