LVMH Cuba Ron S.A. Eminente Gran Réserva (Édition n2) 2025
One taster called it a "quite typical Cuban rum, bit drier" than the usual sweet Cubans, and that fits. The Sauternes finish brings honey, dried figs and raisins, a little dried apricot, vanilla and tobacco, with leather and gentle oak tannins. Most find it a pleasant, dry easy sipper — rounded, not showy. A couple noted the finish tips bitter and lingers.

Dry Cuban sipper with Sauternes dried fruit A well-liked Sauternes-finished Cuban — honey, dried fruit and tobacco in a dry, easy style. Rounded rather than remarkable; one or two found the finish turns bitter.

Gran Reserva 10 years, batch 2 with a finish in Sauternes cask. Very chocolaty.

A second, blind, tasting made me reconsider and raise 0.5 points.
