The surprise here is Japanese Mizunara oak on a Martinique agricole — it shows up as coconut, vanilla and toasted almond over fresh sugarcane. Tasters get yellow plum, a floral touch and light caramel, with the 52.5% and wood sitting quietly in the background. Several call it fresh and easy-drinking, and most prefer it to the earlier black-bottle Équilibre.

#5777 28.09.2025 Day two of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. Like so many other releases from Niesson, this one is also very smooth and delicate. The profile is well rounded with nice citrus, sugarcane, coconut and light caramel. The wood and ABV are barely noticable in the profile. An easy drinker in my mind.

Un beau nez sur la coco, un boisé intéressant, bien gras en bouche avec pas mal d’amande. Je sais déjà que je prendrai une bouteille parce que j’apprécie l’artiste qui travaille ces designs, mais on n’est pas si loin que ça du premier équilibre j’ai l’impression. Pas de gros changement.

Profil Équilibre 2025 – 52.5% (bouteille blanche) : mariage entre Profil 107 et fûts de chêne japonais Mizunara, une rareté dans le rhum. Verdict : nettement plus convaincant que la version précédente (49%, bouteille noire).
