Calvados-cask apple runs the whole show here — so much so that several members struggle to find the sugarcane underneath. It's a young Bielle agricole, not quite two years old at 51%, and it drinks that way: peppery, grassy, a little pineapple and banana, but hot and sharp-edged. A few tasters call it an unlucky cask; one liked the spice more than the rest.

Mhm irgendwie eine komische Abfüllung. An der Nase anfangs ziemlich alkoholisch. Meiner Meinung nach überdeckt dieses Calvados Finish so ziemlich alles und ist ziemlich dominant. Harmoniert nach meiner Meinung nicht wirklich.

7,7:On the nose, smoky, burnt notes, perhaps with rubber, sugarcane, flowery, grassy with hay, fresh with tea, vegetal with mushrooms, woody, calvados barrel impact with candied fruits, pineapple, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the wood is slightly roasted with milk chocolate, peppery, spicy with cinnamon, burnt with hints of bbq, the cane is sweet with honeycomb, a bit musty, green fruits arise. 7,7:On the palate, the attack is fresh with tea, flowery, herbaceous sugarcane, candied, grassy, earthy, mineral, fruity with banana, green, citrus fruits, like a marmelade, as the wood is toasted, slightly burnt with leather, spicy, peppery. 7,6:The finish is quite short, dry, with similar notes as on the palate..

On the nose, there's pineapple, spicy cinnamon, a touch of brown caramel and oak from the cask! On the palate, banana and spice notes dominate, with a medium finish and an interesting toast that doesn't mask the aromas! Rather nice for this special edition of Duchesse Anne, an emblem of Dunkirk!
