EDIT : rhum club Lille. Plus équilibré et sombre qu’à mon Souvenir ! Je vous en parlais dans mon article sur mon passage à la Barge 166 de la Maison Ferrand. Après un 2em avis.. je vous le dis, à 49€ PVC, c’est clairement une bouteille qu’il vous faut! (lien pour l'article précédent). Au nez, de belles notes de coco, d’ananas, de fruits secs, d’épices, de caramel. En bouche, une texture ronde & ample, qui m’a rappelé une petite pate à crêpe comme la faisait ma grand-mère. La bouche suit bien le nez, avec en complément quelques notes herbacées, de la fêve de cacao, et de l’orange. C'est un rhum de tous les jours, chaleureux, et complet !

#1711 16-01-2026 - Rate 5.8 Where to start? Have tasted less Plantation(Planteray) rums the last years. Some of the extreme series were good but to few I liked. This one was a gamble, that didn’t pay out. Won’t go in to too much details but it’s a mix that goes in to many different directions. And a bitter taste. Not for me.

Very decent Navy blend! Well-integrated alcohol. A touch too sweet. But really recommendable for the price-enjoyment ratio and a good introduction to Navy blends! Easy sipper!!!!!!!!!!

Man bekommt wirklich viel für sein Geld. Bin sehr positiv überrascht. Schmeckt mir sehr gut. Ausreichend Komplexität hat er auch.

Hanse Spirit Hamburg Februar 2026. Dann noch 3x am Ferrand Stand zugeschlagen. Zuerst den Navy Rum. Finde ihn persönlich zu alkoholisch. Ansonsten getrocknete Früchte und Zitrusfrüchte, aber auch viel Würze.

Far from a navy rum but nonetheless quite good. I get sweet, candied citruses and sweet spices on the nose. On the palate sweetness with darker and roasted notes. The nose excites me, the taste not so much.

Gefällt mir besser wie der alte, weniger süß und etwas würziger und fruchtiger. Alkohol ist gut integriert und insgesamt eine runde Sache. Für einen navy rum könnte er aber mehr nach Guyana Jamaica und Trinidad schmecken für meinen Geschmack.

Naja, für den Preis von unter 40€ noch akzeptabel, wobei man da auch leckere Sachen bekommt. Ohne es zu wissen würde ich sagen das der Mauritius Anteil ein ungelagerter Rum in Fassstärke ist. Dieser Anteil sorgt für ein Ungleichgewicht und macht ihn unrund. In der Nase Zitrusfrüchte und viele florale Anklänge. Gras,Gurke,Tee und eine unangenehme Säure,die nicht so recht reinpasst. Der Gaumen beginnt recht süß mit Zitrusfrüchten, geht über zu Schwarztee,Gras und Kräutern und endet bitter, mit viel Röstaroma, Holz und Rauch. Der Abgang ist bitter mit Schwarztee und verbranntem Holz. Bin froh nur eine Flasche gekauft zu haben, er ist nicht mein Fall.

Passage chez Planteray Cette année, pas d’embouteillage exclusif sur le stand, contrairement aux éditions précédentes. Je me suis donc rabattu sur deux sorties 2025 : Black Cask 2025 (Barbados & Trinidad) – 40% Un assemblage beaucoup trop sucré et un peu plat pour des palais de passionnés. Mais il reste doux, agréable et accessible, avec un prix correct pour ceux qui découvrent le rhum. Navy Mister Fogg 2025 - 55,7% Sur ce deuxième batch, la note artificielle qui m’avait gêné auparavant a disparu. Cette version 2025 se montre plus fruitée, légèrement épicée, et bien plus équilibrée. Un rhum sympa, abordable et facile à déguster.

1st taste: Nose is very fruity full of tropical fruits such as kiwi, banana or orange. You get sweet kinda candy feel of the overall aroma with spicy tones complementing the overall feeling. 1st impression of the palate is that I am tasting something very familiar. Oh right it resembles the Rammstein rum blend. Jamaican and Guayanese portion of the blend is very prominent in here, the Trinidad gives ,, a punch,, Barbados rounds it very well and Mauritius enhances the overall taste. It's very fruity and spicy overall and the sweetness is just nicely balanced with all mentioned elements. If you are interested in detailed breakdown of the flavor check out my sensoric notes. After first try I must say that I am very pleased. For it's price you are getting a really good navy rum that is however a little on the sweeter side. Whether that is good or bad is up to you and your personal preferences.

War nach der Lektüre von „The Rum Never Sets“ etwas zwiegespalten. die erzählte Geschichte des Navy Rums ist instruktiv. Im letzten Abschnitt wird dann die Produktion eines darauf aufgebauten Navy Rums mit Nachbau der originalen Navy Dock Blending Apparatur beschrieben wird. Im Prinzip ist das Buch eine fundierte Werbebrochüre für diesen Navy Rum. Man muss den Hut ziehen von dieser Hingabe. Entsprechend habe ich mir den Rum besorgt. Im Vergleich zu anderen ist wohl der Mauritius Einfluss etwas zu dominant. Man meint es wäre ein Grand Arome. Nicht meine Präferenz. Ich könnte mir aber vorstellen, dass ich als Seemann die alkoholische Frische auf Deck gerne genossen hätte. Trotzdem nicht mein liebster Navy. Deptford Dockyard ist um Klassen besser. Black Tot ohne Frage. Verlier Navy und Ricci erlauben auch die Einzelteile noch zu differenzieren und genießen. Aus historischem Interesse tolles Projekt. Genießbar, aber ich finde schade, dass man die anderen Beiträge nicht so gut herausschmeckt:-( Das Differentialtasting finde ich bei den Navy Rums das interessanteste.

At first impression, it’s pretty bad. Artificial cinnamon and sweetness. But over time, it’s not that bad after all. Fair enough. I understand the goal was to reproduce the history, not to create the best possible blend.

Un Navy Rum expressif et gourmand, fidèle à l’esprit des assemblages historiques. Le nez oscille entre fruits mûrs, mélasse, épices et une légère touche fumée. En bouche, l’équilibre est là : ampleur, rondeur et une vraie profondeur aromatique sans lourdeur. La finale prolonge les épices et les notes boisées avec élégance. Un rhum qui prend encore plus de sens à la lecture des ouvrages consacrés aux Navy Rums, tant il s’inscrit dans cette tradition maritime et historique.
