Rum Albrecht Burke‘s Jamaica Rum
Most tasters land in the same place: a young, unaged white Jamaican at a serious 75%, too hot to sip straight but a lot of fun in a glass. Glue, solvent and overripe banana on the nose, then ester, lime and a green olive-brine, almost mineral edge. Several guessed Hampden or Long Pond blind. Made for overproof cocktails.

Kein ganz ungewöhnlicher junger Jamaikaner. Zwar mit den zu erwartenden fruchtigen Esternoten, die ins vergorene drehen, dazu aber auch mit leicht mineralischen Noten, die an Olive erinnern und ebenso floralen Anklängen. Die 75% sind trotz der vorhanden Schärfe gut integriert. Eine spannende Auswahl, die sich als Overproof-Rum für aussergewöhnliche Cocktails anbieten dürfte.

Tja ein kleines Highlight doch nochmal zum Schluß. Netter Highproof Rum. Hat ordentlich Wumms, kann ich mir gut als Mixer vorstellen. Mit einer der Favoriten aus dem Blind Sample Set. Tolle interessante Auswahl, wobei die Masse eher nicht meinen Geschmack getroffen hat.

Blind Tasting Set von Johannes (danke dafür): Nase mit Frucht (Banane?), Klebstoff und Lösungsmittel. Ordentlich Power. Am Gaumen ebenfalls sehr stark, geschätzt um die 70%. Ester, Frucht, etwas pflanzlich und kein Holz. Gar nicht schlecht.

Vielen Johannes für diese Blind Tasting. #No.9 Lecker Fruchtig Blumig Florale frische Nase ... Erdbeeren, Zitrone , Säure , unreife Banane und Esternotes. Hier auch relativ hoher ABV (geschätzt 67-72%) Am Gaumen Sehr trocken im Mund .... etwas Alkoholisch stechend (nicht schlimm) . Frucht eher weniger dafür Ester aber irgendetwie nicht die typischen (Jamaica und co) mmh ... Bitternoten und Schokolade im Abgang.

Blind tasting #9: funky, tropical fruits and solvent on the nose. High proof Jamaica. As I get quite some banana - worthy park maybe?🤔 On the palate I‘m more in Hampden territory. Akin to Rum Fire 🤔what ever it is, it is quite tasty (and very high proof). Good one. Cheers, Johannes for the set - was a blast to taste.

Habe einen Hampden HGML hier in Nase und Gaumen. Zum pur trinken ist er mir zu intensiv und alkoholisch. Als Mixer sicher gut geeignet.

Johannes Bild Tasting. Besten Dank für diese Gelegenheit! 😊 Ordentlich ABV, mit schönen Früchten und Ester. Bringt im Cocktail bestimmt ordentlich Komplexität mir. Pur etwas anstrengend. Jamaica Funk ist zwar da, aber nicht typisch & klar erkennbar für mich.

Johannes Blind-Tasting Nr.9: Puhhh… der riecht und schmeckt heftig nach Alkohol..Ester und Schärfe ist ebenfalls vorhanden… Er scheint ein sehr hohes ABV zi baben und ist dementsprechend auch sehr adstringierend. Der taugt wie der Vorgänger mit der Nr.8 maximal zum mixen. Pur kaum genießbar
