Very sweet, more liqueur than rum Sweet-tooth crowd loves it, purists don't. Almost everyone agrees it's a rum liqueur, not a rum: honey, raisin and sugar in every sip. Great over ice cream, less so neat if you want real rum.

Good only to put in coffee! Good for those who have never tasted rum nor distilled spirits in general.Aroma too sweet to bear.It is not a rum, but a rum-based distillate, in fact it is called elixir.

7:On the nose, it's sweet and warm. The notes of macerated grapes, raisins are complimented by vanilla and light tobacco notes with some glue, other fruits, woody and metallic addition. 6,8:On the palate, the liquorish attack is strong. Vanilla and caramel combined with discreet fruity(macerated grapes) notes make up the profile with spicy, herbal and honey notes. There is also a touch of alcohol. 7:The finish is moderately long and marked by sweetness and roundedness inspite of the sweet rum profile. It is a pleasant, easy sipper for evenings, though some find the aroma and taste of glue to be a bit off-putting. It also goes nice with some Cohiba.🏖️.

Tried the CubaLibre again after a long time. It can be done, but I'm now used to other things as a mixer, so oh well. But better than many other rums from the supermarket shelf. It's not really anything on its own. Fortunately, you can always find people who are happy to receive a gift like this 😅

Mein absoluter Favorit unter den Rum-Likören und mit Plantation XO zusammen meine mit Abstand liebste Pur-Spiritouse. Angenehme Süße, dabei aber schön "rummig" (Vanille, Rosinen, etwas Holz), geht runter wie Öl. Möchte man gar nicht glauben, macht aber auch einen Wahnsinns-Mojito, mein Favorit noch vor div. weissen Rums (Plantation 3 Stars, Havana 3). Drinks: - Pur: 5/5 - auf Eis: 5/5 - Cuba Libre: 4/5 - Rum Cola: 4/5 - Rum Mule: 4/5 - Mojito: 5/5

Es fällt mir schwer, den Bewertungsmaßstab eines Rums anzuwenden, da es kein Rum ist sondern ein stärkerer Likör. Ich versuche es trotzdem. In der Nase süß-vanillig. Am Gaumen noch süßerer Honig. Meine Frau liebt ihn, mir ist er zu süß.

06.2024 Erster Eindruck: warm, weich, süß, rund, schöne Legs im Glas Nase: reichhaltige getrocknete Früchte, Rosine, Honig, Gewürze, lecker Gaumen: sehr süß, mehr Honig und Trockenfrüchte, bißchen Fass, Vanille, Aromen strömen aus allen Richtungen Abgang: kurz, kleine Verlängerung aller Aromen Gesamteindruck: fast schon ein Sirup aber ein leckerer. Viele typische, leichte Rum-Aromen.

Elexir de Cuba, not a rum and does not pretend to be one. Interesting alternative for those who drink dessert wines, port or sherry. Who expects rum will be very disappointed. 60/100 because it is pleasant to drink and unlike other sugar plörre never claimed to be a rum.

JoA I always thought ah rise was the ultimate sweetener. But this is the bottom of the barrel. It's just sugar with a little bit of sugar added. Definitely not suitable for diabetics

A fantastic design that carries the name "Legendario" with it. My sample had a Cuba flag made of fabric wrapped around the neck of the bottle. The rum is incredibly sweet. Some dark chocolate on the finish. Undrinkable neat.

Can hardly pass as rum, if then a high-proof liqueur. Despite only 34% a biting nose of alcohol, so probably infinitely sugared fuel! In any case, "tasty" and round, if you want something extremely sweet times.

Read full review →It also puts me in mind of Ron El Prohibido. A rum which is bottled after being aged in Raisin Wine barrels. That had a sweet yet strange after taste as well. I'm not a massive fan of this either from a Rum point of view (which it definitely isn't)...
