Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. extrem rund für 37y tropical aging... geile Nummer und ein absoluter Ausnahme Panama Rum! Im blind tasting könnte man den schnell Mal mit so manchem Demerara verwechseln. Hintenraus bekommt er ne sehr abgefahrene, leicht bittere Note nach Maggikraut und Minze und altem Sherry. Ungewöhnlich komplex für Panama. Definitiv ein Rum für den man sich Zeit nehmen sollte...

Great Panama rum. Much more balanced than the already quite bitter Rumclub and with a nice overall profile - dried fruit, wood, well-balanced sweetness and subtle spicy notes. A very positive surprise!

Profile of chocolate, wood, plums, dried red fruits, dates, sweetish with vanilla and baking spices. Leathery finish with roasted coffee and tobacco, some smoke. Second tasting: must put things into perspective here. Still a very good, tasty rum. For me, much better than all the old Cuba rums from 2024.

Ui, komisches Tasting-Wochenende, an dem unglaublicherweise ein Bristol-Cubaner mit Sherry-Finish (RX5451) meine Gunst gewinnt und diesen ehrwürdigen Panamá in den Schatten stellt. 🙄 An der Nase empfand ich den Bellamy's Panamá sehr zurückhaltend, wenn nicht lasch. Am Gaumen dafür deutlich zu holzig. Außerdem erlebte ich eine für einen Panamesen unerwartet starke Adstringenz. Für mich war der Rum leider drüber und ich habe die Probe nicht ausgetrunken (ich Banause, ich 🤷♂️😉). Update 2025-11-11: Und wieder einmal muss ich Abbitte leisten: Dieser Rum ist subjektiv und objektiv deutlich besser als die vor drei Jahren von mir vergebenen 72 Punkte. Heute empfinde ich ihn als ein Paradebeispiel für Rum des spanischen Stils. Und die Holzigkeit, die mir seinerzeit gar nicht gefallen hat, wirkt heute gar nicht mehr übermäßig, es ist eine sehr angenehme, spezielle Holzigkeit. Gut, wenn man die Gelegenheit hat, seine Meinung zu revidieren.

By far the best rum from Panama that I personally have ever drunk. Creamy soft and yet full of character. The long-lasting aroma makes the rum complete. I drank the last sip of this leather today

Another of the nice rums in the tasting today A really nice 37 year old with a lot of coffee notes. The colour is all natural and no added sugar either. An amazingly good rum with a bit of a price tag, but still well within the value of the quality offered. Can be hard to get your hands on, so if you get the chance, grab it

Sehr alter Panama. Fast schon zu alt. Habe dunkles Holz, Kaffenoten, etwas Tabak. Nicht mein Fall, aber wird sicher seine Liebhaber haben. Schwerer Rum für Winterabende. Beim 2. Tasting etwas gefälliger und runder. Jedoch überzeugt er mich immer noch nicht vollends.

Sehr vollmundiger und komplexer Rum, dem mein sein Alter positiv anmerkt. Schöne würzige Fass-Aromen, der Geschmack von getrockneten Früchten und Noten von Kakao sind nur ein kleiner Teil des Geschmacksspektrums. Möglicherweise gibt es komplexere Rums diesen Alters, aber allein aufgrund der Verfügbarkeit lohnt sich dieser Rum! Edit: Beim zweiten Probieren überraschend kräuterig. Insgesamt aber etwas unausgewogener als der Rum-Club Panama, der mit einem Jahr weniger deutlich mehr Tiefe mitbringt. Punktet dann aber wieder im Abgang, die getrockneten Pflaumen klingen lange nach!

This is a rich one. On the nose maybe not too exciting but pleasant, but on palate it is quite dense, intense, spicy. I added some drops of water to make it lose the bite, also touch bitter without. With water it's more balanced, though the nose disappears. Quite a long finish. Thank you Jury for the sample.

Äußerst komplexe Nase: viel Holz, Vanille, sehr fruchtig für das Alter, Schokolade, Karamell, Röstaromen, aber auch eine erdige Kräuternote. Im Mund genau so ausgewogen und komplex, wobei Früchte eher eine untergeordnete Rolle spielen. Im Abgang kommt mehr Karamell dazu, einfach nur lecker und ein sehr guter Rum.

Leider ist das Sample vom Rumclub Panama fürs KDW schon lange leer, aber aus meiner Erinnerung keine signifikanten Unterschiede. Sehr runde, Holz (aber nicht so viel wie erwartet bei 37 Jahren), Trockenfrüchte, würzig, Kaffee und dunkle Schokolade. Sehr schöne Abfüllung und bislang das Beste was Panama zu bieten hat.

Mahagoni Geruch: Süß, dunkel und schwer nach Kaffee, altem Holz und Halbbitter-Schokolade. Rosinen, Rum-Trauben-Nuss Schokolade und Mon Cherie. Alkoholisch. Geschmack: Vollmundig und rund im Mund. Beim Schlucken dann würzig und sehr holzig mit Aromen von Kaffee, Tabak, Toffee und Schokolade. Abgang: Mittellang Leichte Süße, Toffee, Kaffee und Tabak. Im Nachgeschmack sehr holzig und schwach bitter. 87 Punkte

Wow, bin ja kein Fan des Spanischen … aber das ist der beste Panama, den ich bis dato probiert habe. Schokolade, Trockenfrüchte, Leder, Kaffee … und ich finde auch etwas Brombeere. Wirklich sehr schön.

Toller alter Rum aus Panama. Er hat aufgrund des Alters hat er viel Tiefe, eine gewisse Schwere und eine schöne Komplexität. Natürlich schmeckt und riecht man viel Fass, er hätte auch nicht länger lagern dürfen. Tolle Noten von der dunkler Schokolade und Leder.

Tolle, sehr einladende Nase! Am Gaumen sehr weich, geschmacklich geht er mit Trockenfrüchten und Karamell in Richtung Rumclub Ed. 46, dabei aber am Gaumen weicher und runder, trotz der 61%. Ein sehr guter Rum, preislich aber zu hoch.

Ooh, nice dark color. Blind I would guess Barbados at first. Quite creamy, vanilla, coconuty, chocolate, sweet spices, wood and it later developes fruity notes. Nicely balanced, complex... 37 years... is this how long you have to age Panama rum in order to get something great? The best Panama I have tasted so far. There are definitely more great Panamian rums, I just happen to avoid it :-D
