Worthy Park Single Estate 2006
"Wood, tropical fruits, nice finish" is how one taster sums it up, and that fits: ripe and unripe banana, glue and vanilla on the nose, then a drier, spicier, oak-forward palate from the tropical aging. On the nose, almost refreshingly fresh and fruity, with the oak already making itself noticed in the background. The fruity impression continues on the palate at first, but as it progresses, the rum increasingly turns towards the woody side, resulting in a dry and rather fruit-light finish. A fairly complex and really nice, tropically aged Worthy Park!

Typical Worthy Park profile. A great Jamaican to my taste. Lots of solvent and glue. Unripe and ripe bananas. Dried fruit, not too many esters, complex and intense. Great PLV.

An elegant drop, which the tropical maturation suits very well. Wonderful vanilla sweetness from the oak barrel, which successfully embeds the typical Worthy Park profile. The result is a comparatively sweet Worthy Park release, to which I would like to give the attribute "PLV highlight" - looking out from 2022, this is in any case a bottling at a high level, where I do not understand why it is still available well after the year of issue.

Rounded Jamaican nose, very harmonious and complex at the same time. Fruity, spicy, floral, caramel and toasty. Very good drinking strength, which provides a nice density of flavors. A highlight for me is the finish! Here there is a very intense vanilla or herbal note, which combines elegantly with spices and caramel. From Worthy Park there are some exceptional bottlings at a good price - this is one of them.

82 points. This is the perfect rum for guests who have never tasted unsweetened rum, an easy sipper that has enough complexity and depth to tickle the interest of most beginners. The flavor profile is well balanced with wood, spices, fruit, vanilla and tobacco.

Un Jamaïcain qui change des rhums funky et autres high esters. J ai aussi trouvé le fruité moins présent que d autres Worthy. Ce rhum gagne en rondeur avec un boisé fondu , du caramel, Tabac, sucre brun . A noter que je n ai pas trouvé la pomme que je reconnais souvent avec cette marque.

A lovely tropically aged rum from Worthy Park, on the nose it's fruity and has some wood coming though. Has a nice sweetness with lots of vanilla on the palate and is quite fruity as well. great complexity with a long finish.

This is a wonderful bottle of rum especially if you look at the price tag. Fruity from nose to finish. The barrel is also present with smoke on the palate, which I really like. Very well balanced rum.

Vanilla, banana and much more. Mixed with wood and well-integrated alcohol - not perfect, but goes well with the rough edges. A perennial classic from my rum cabinet for years.

Great round worthy park. Personally, a little too expensive for the price. Prefer the oloroso or the Quat vin, because the price enjoyment ratio is right.

The WP is nice to drink on a warm summer evening. Olfactory and flavor notes with emphasis on fruit, vanilla, marzipan, baking spices. Nice, mild finish. Top rum!

Bottle just opened. The rum is still quite closed. Full-bodied palate with banana, evolving on a rather dry, woody profile. Tobacco and a few olive pits diversify the palate. A touch of pepper and ginger enhance the whole. I'm curious to see what it will do with a little oxidation.

Delicious Worthy Park, which I still find quite fruity on the nose, while a lot of spice and wood comes through on the palate and it seems quite dry. The tropical maturation is probably noticeable here. Long finish, with plenty of saliva production. A spicy taste remains, including aniseed. The rum is still available for under 100 euros and is more than worth it in my opinion.

Very good worthy park that comes across rather spicy floral. The fruit notes here rather incidental. Interestingly, the WP-typical banana does not come through at me so, goes on the palate more towards cherry. Already exciting since worth a second try 😋

A heavily wooded Worthy Park light rum expression well suited to the conversion of a rye drinker. Spicy and a bit alcoholic neat, a bit of water or ice reveals a round balance of cedarwood, vanilla, quinine, mint, and a little leather and spice. Medium finish of whiskey and heat. En daiquiri it's serviceable but underwhelming at the price. Notes of light brown sugar, a touch of banana, and slightly astringent cedar. Their "select" and Transcontinental's 2016 bottling are much more enjoyable and quite a bit cheaper.

What an absolute beauty this is! Very elegant and tasty rum. Well balanced, typical Worthy Park profile that seems to keep getting better the longer the bottle is opened. This rum is an awesome introduction to Jamaican rum for beginners and a must-buy.

Nase: vor allem Banane. Hinzu kommt eine deutliche Klebstoffnote. Zudem Honig und etwas Holz und Vanille. Vor allem die Kombination aus Banane, Klebstoff und Honig gefällt mir sehr gut. Mit der Zeit wird die Fruchtnote etwas schwächer und die Klebstoffnoten werden deutlicher. Geschmack: holzig ,würzig. Die Fruchtnoten (wieder primär Banane) sind etwas weniger ausgeprägt als in der Nase. Mit der Zeit werden sie allerdings deutlicher. Irgendwie erinnert mich der Geschmack zudem an Tee (woher kommt das? Ist das der Apfel? Ist auf jeden fall sehr interessant und lecker). Abgang: mittel Der gefällt mit echt gut. Ich brächte wahrscheinlich keine ganze Flasche aber den kann man gerne nochmal probieren.

The nose is pronounced on banana and exotic fruits, it is very greedy with the presence of vanilla and (too well) loaded with cocoa like a chocolate cake fresh out of the oven.the mouth is lively and powerful on toasted wood, red fruits and a nice warmth really pleasant! The finish is rather long and dry and the heat is present, I love this stuff, on my god!

Nose: honey, herbs, vanilla and the ester glue and varnish aromas.Palate: sour at the start, then honey followed by freshness and fruitiness. Pear apple also pineapple before it becomes clearly spicy. Finish: herbs and especially anise can be heard. With time, smoke and also again honey gains presence.Conclusion: Multilayered rum that comes up with everything a good Jamaican needs, although the fruit flavors come a little short on the nose.

The nose logically draws on the banana, but not only. We find mint tea and chocolate. It is very pastry. The nose is very rich and complex. It invites to the tasting. In mouth it is warm but perfectly balanced. The mouth is less fruity than the nose predicted, we find apple but it is mostly spicy. It is oily in mouth and we sweep the empyreumatic notes with a woody thread. As for the nose, it is very complex. The finish is rather long and dry on the leather. Perfectly mastered and complex bottling (not too many esters)

Immediately enveloping on the nose: citric notes that remind me of citrus like tangerine and orange skin. Important notes of nutmeg and hazelnut. Palate consistent with the nose: citrus, caramel and classic vanilla. Some astringency, perhaps due to the fact that the barrels were only used once before aging the rum? Elegant, very pleasant and well-made product.

On The Rocks: On the nose there is a mild sweet red apple and caramel with mild hints of some Jamaican funk. Taste reveals intense spice and oak with some char and treacle and cooked sweet banana. It is a strong punch in the face that was not expected from the aroma. This is a very interesting release but a sipper in smaller quantities. Nice stuff. Kind of brings everything together that I just tried in the 8 mark series. Has some of the caramel and banana of the DOK, C<>H and maybe the . A hint of lacquer at the end, but not much. Pours clear copper. Very smooth and pleasant drink.

So don't look for the barred thing of course, the goal is to sell it, so the style is rather "general public" we'll say... understand, it's not a DOK at 86% 🙂 On the other hand, 120€ is not very cheap I think. Compared to an Appleton 12, we are talking about a difference of almost 70€, so let's stay calm, I know that Appleton has a much bigger strike force and that this version is 10% more alcoholic, but it is still a budget for a 12
