CoR Hampden High Ester Rum Oloroso (catawiki) C<>H 2023
Solid but a touch one-dimensional, is the honest read here: the Oloroso cask does the heavy lifting. Expect a thick, oily body of dark cherry, raisin and burnt wood, with Hampden's glue-and-varnish esters sitting further back than usual. At 62.3% it burns, but the heat's well integrated. A long, dry, nutty finish with cherry that lingers.

- Long cherry finish
- Fairly one-note

How does CoR Hampden High Ester Rum Oloroso (catawiki) C<>H 2023 taste?
Aggregated from 15 community reviews.
Sherry-heavy Hampden with esters in the back Well-liked but not the pick of the C<>H series — several tasters find the sherry dominant and the profile one-note, though everyone agrees the alcohol is well tucked in.

Big Hampden 8 Marks Collection x CoR C<>H Cross Tasting: Sherry aromas again clearly perceptible, but weaker than in the 24086. Alcohol better integrated than in the other bottlings of the series.

On the nose: Quite heavy and deep. Strong cask influence. Esters are in the background. Fruity. Cherry. Young wood. Taste: Thick, heavy body with cask influence. Esters in the background. Then it goes deeper on the dark fruits notes, raisin. The high abv is present but integrated. Finish: Medium-long finish. Nutty, fruity notes. Dry. This rum really showcases the heavy sherrycask influence on the rum. The quality is good, but it is pretty one dimentional.

Oloroso Finish schon gut wahrnehmbar. Aber der C<>H könnte etwas besser mit dem Finish vermählt sein.
