#5836 08.10.2025 Enjoying a few samples after work while streaming from MAX. Nose Intense, fresh, light wood, fruity, overripe, ester, wine, peach, light polish, light mint, light cherry. Palate Oily, intense, light wood, faint smoke, fruity, overripe, ester, cherry, light mint, medium spicy, light floral, light salt, light varnish. Finish Very long and warm, light wood, medium intense, wine, fruits, ester, light tannins, faint rubber. Empty glass Light chocolate, light varnish, faint nutts, light floral, faint rubber.

Was soll ich noch sagen, ein typischer Hampden. Auf jeden Fall ist reichlich Holz erkennbar, Ester natürlich auch sehr stark erkennbar, ansosten noch ein paar tropische Früchte. Im Glühwein jedenfalls sehr lecker :)

Big Hampden 8 Marks Collection x CoR C<>H Cross Tasting: less exciting than the sherry cask. Wood and sweetness are not as pronounced. Additional peach on the palate, very velvety. Tropical fruits again somewhat overlaid.

On the nose: Its high esters, but its madeira cask and its dark fruits that come through. Taste: Ester and high abv at front, but pleasant burn. The cask influence is really present. but giving more red fruits and maybe port flavours. Good level of fruit based sweetness. In the flavour richness scale we are in the slightly above middle ground here, its good but leaves you wanting just little bit more. Finish: Finish is medium. Quite dry and little woody. After a while the fruits flavour appear on the finish . Quote mild. For its price, its a good rum. Nosing and taste go hand to hand on this one, no surprises there during tasting.

Das Madeira Finish ist schon deutlich präsent, aber auch spannend und gut eingebunden. Bringt für den rum eine schöne Komplexität! Gefällt mir sehr gut. Für mich der beste aus der Reihe!
