CDI Jamaica (Sweden) 2007

Banana and pineapple lead, wrapped in ester and a metallic patina, but this one lands quieter than its Worthy Park pedigree promises. Several tasters found it flat and notably alcoholic — the fruit and esters read faint rather than loud. At 56.9% it needs air and rest to settle. A decent sipper that stops short of the funk many hoped for.

The community says
  • Tropical fruit core
  • Long dry finish
  • Very alcoholic

Muted-ester Jamaican that runs hot and flat Owners land around "good but not great" — a competent Jamaican that reads younger and hotter than 17 years, with esters more hinted than shouted. Give it time to open.

8,4:On the nose, esters, metallic patina, ripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, vegetal molasses with briny olive, roasted wood notes with cream toffee, pastry, fruitcake, spicy and rubber, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the rum becomes slightly dirty, smoky, various new notes arise, like gingerbread, fudge, roasted nuts, vanilla, the molasses is grassy and flowery, red fruits join. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is fruity with tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, overripe, later red fruits, medicinal with esters, metallic, soapy, the wood is roasted, tasty, sweet with pastry, caramel, cookie dough, perhaps yeast, spicy with ginger, peppery, as the molasses is vegetal with briny olive. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, slightly metallic, as overripe tropical, citrus fruits pair vegetal, grassy, herbaceous and flowery molasses, roasted oak, spicy and smoky. Edit:21.3.26

#6716 28.04.2026 Running a few samples while watching Gold Rush on HBO Max. Pretty good bottling with a nice ester profile with fruit, polish, spice and light tannins. Needs to rest for a good while to really settle and open up properly.
