A distillate matured to perfection with an exquisite aroma structure. Thanks to the alcohol strength, nothing remains hidden; rather, all nuances are revealed in magnificent form: mint and eucalyptus provide fresh and cooling notes, tropical fruits offer the entire spectrum from young citrus to fully ripe sweet flavors, and the barrel contributes harmonious vanilla, caramel, and subtle spice notes. It would have been exciting to try this rum at full strength—but what made it into the glass is convincing across the board. Excellent, top-notch sipping.

Bringt alles mit was man von einem guten 2003er TDL erwartet. Für ~60€ bekommt man hier wirklich viel für sein Geld! Einen so alten Single cask heutzutage noch für unter 100€ zu bekommen ist wirklich außergewöhnlich! Aromatisch findet sich hier wie zu erwarten war viel Minze, etwas Eukalyptus und Virginia Tabak, sowie Zitrusfrüchte (Zitrone , Mandarine und yuzu) und gelbes Kernobst wie Birnen und Mirabelle, begleitet von viel Holz und intensiven Tanninen, sowie leicht medizinischen (salzig bitter jodig) Beiklängen. Der reduzierte Alkoholgehalt erhöht den Trinkfluss deutlich. Muss sich definitiv nicht hinter teils 3-4x so teuren Schwesterfässern in Fassstärke verstecken! Mir ist er nur insgesamt etwas zu holzig und trocken im Abgang...

Well, now I've finally tried this highly praised piece. O.k. the price is quite nice, but I don't really think it's a cracker. Nice easy sipper for in between, but a bottle won't find its way to me.

Convinces with a sensational price-performance ratio. Despite being noticeably diluted, the rum is comparatively complex. Despite the expected mint/menthol and euchalyptus notes, it offers beautiful aromas of citrus fruits, light spice and subtle oak, which unfold unexpectedly harmoniously. I like it very much, as it shows more depth than the moderate alcohol content initially suggests.

👃 Dès l'ouverture, une belle note caramélisée, vanillée et épicée. Puis, on retrouve la combinaison caractéristique des TDL 2003, menthe, fruits jaunes (dominance) et tropicaux (en retrait). Le menthol se dirige vers l'odeur des huiles essentielles éponymes. 😋 Je suis impressionné par l'intensité de la saveur de menthe/eucalyptus surtout pour une dilution assez importante de l'assemblage. On a cette fraîcheur caractéristique que l'on trouve sur le camphre. Pas mal d'épices poivrées et de fruits aussi en début de bouche (plus fruits jaunes) puis la saveur adorable de cassis mélangé à du thé. C'est suffisamment herbacé presque comme sur un TDL 2002. ⛳ Assez asséchante, légèrement amère, sur les baies noires, la menthe et les feuilles de thé. Un boisé vanillé et fondu garde relativement longtemps les arômes en bouche malgré la dilution, encore une fois. 💡 Tous les marqueurs d'un TDL typique du millésime 2003 sont présents, de façon plus ou moins légère en fonction des arômes. Je penche plus sur un équilibre et une rondeur des arômes que sur leur relative complexité. 🏆 Pour son PVC de 84🍒 (se trouve à 65-70 en cherchant un peu), il joue dans la catégorie des meilleurs rapports qualité prix de l'année 2025. Un must have pour faire découvrir Trinidad Distillers Limited avant d'attaquer les gros single cask 2001-02-03-09.

Quickly tasting the Maison du Whisky salon. I really didn't expect this from a rum rum, made with molasses, and priced at €85. It has all the qualities of a good Trinidad, fruity, minty, a bit woody. Not super complex but very pleasant. I'm rating it a bit higher for the effort on the price.

Ich bin schwer beeindruckt. Die Bewertungen waren ja bisher schon eher positiv, aber das hätte ich zu dem Preis dennoch nicht erwartet. Die Nase bringt alles mit was ich von einem 2003er TDL erwarte. Minze, Menthol, Beeren, reife Früchte, eine schöne Süße. Muss sich aus meiner Sicht nicht vor seinen Fass-starken Brüdern verstecken was die Nase angeht. Am Gaumen findet sich alles wieder was die Nase verspricht. Natürlich ist das aufgrund der Verdünnung nicht so intensiv und langanhaltend wie man das von den Single Casks gewohnt ist, dafür sind hier größere Schlücke möglich und preislich spielt der Planteray in einer anderen Liga. Für mich bis dato der PLV Knaller des Jahres!

On aeration, the molasses is musty, at first dark with black tea, later fresh, flowery and minty, pairing mango, mandarine, pineapple and currants one one side, rubber, metallic patina and tannins on the other. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is fruity with mango, mandarine, medicinal with menthol and rubber, as the wood is roasted with nuts and caramel, chocolate, vanilla adds to creaminess, rounds the first impact with tasting buds.When well oxidized, the molasses brings eucalyptus, tobacco and black tea, is flowery and minty, as there are yellow fruits, passion fruit and bergamot, grapefruit intermingled with confectionery and slightly tannic wood. 8,4:The finish is rather long, dry and tannic, as slightly smoky, spicy roasted wood notes pair mineral, earthy and musty molasses, grassy with lemon grass, some eucalyptus, tropical(mango), citrus fruits and some currants, pear and a pinch of medicinal notes. Holy... What is this? The frame data is already impressive, but the complexity of the nose and palate are on a high level. And then the whole thing for 60-70€. Wow! Very fruity and floral with an underlying honey/caramel note and vanilla. Also pretty intense through and through for just under 48%. You can't really criticize anything.

A very expressive nose, fruity (tutti frutti), minty (but not too minty), dirty and greedy. What more could you ask for in a rum priced at around €85? The wood is noticeable afterwards, supporting the other aromas. The first palate is soft and expressive, fruity, mentholated and woody. A complex, drinkable rum. The finish is the weak point of this otherwise exceptional rum. Menthol and marzipan aromas linger for a long time. A discovery, a delicious, very drinkable rum at an incredible price.

A real find - it's hard to believe what you get for your money here. This Trinidad rum surprises with a wonderfully clear, minty-medicinal impact that runs through the nose and palate without ever being overpowering. Behind this, a complex mixture of strong spice, dark wood and ripe tropical fruit builds up - all neatly integrated and very balanced. Over time, fine tobacco notes and a hint of pleasant mustiness also emerge, giving the rum additional depth. A big thank you to the community for all the tips - without you, I would probably have slipped through the cracks with this one.

First impression: fruity-sweet nose with (tropical) fruit basket, papaya, mango, mirabelle plum, pleasant freshness. Lots of fruit on the palate too, nice minty undertones, tannins/barrel in the finish...dangerously drinkable 😄 the P/L ratio is even better than the 2009 TDL one-time limited

👃 a salad of ripe fruit (mango, peach, guava, banana) comes through, complemented by caramel, vanilla and a little lemon and eucalyptus. 👄 we find this in a fat, woody whole, with dried fruits, chocolate, slightly spicy and vinous, with a warm but short finish in relation to its age. A very pleasant fruity old molasses rum, its sweetness making it consensual and its finish inviting you to refill 😋 And what's more its price is very affordable.

The bottler hits the nail on the head with this TDL. The nose is very soft and opulently round, the aromas rich but the profile rather light. Fresh notes of menthol and eucalyptus take effect, while tropical yellow and red fruits add voluptuousness to the profile. The whole is enhanced by sweet spices and well-integrated oak for its age. A very pleasant nose that you can breathe in for a long time for pleasure. The palate has the typical character of a TDL, with the fresh floral notes that give it such a pleasant taste on the palate. There's an abundance of tropical (passion fruit) and citrus (lemon) fruit, enhanced by a spicy woodiness. The profile is very tasty, not the most complex, but clearly accessible to all and will open up new horizons for beginners. The alcohol is well integrated, combining control and power for its relatively low alcohol content. The finish is not the longest and loses a little in aroma, particularly on the floral side. The exotic citrus fruitiness returns, along with a drier, spicier finish that's nonetheless elegant and relatively smooth. An ultra-efficient TDL with exotic flavors and unbeatable value for money, hats off to Maison Ferrand for distributing this quality product so easily.

Fulfills all the criteria expected of a Trinidad rum. Nice mint note, slightly roasted caramel and fruitiness. Yellow fruits and a little chocolate, a hint of vanilla and black tea. Slightly bitter and dry on the finish. A little peppery on the back and subtle woody and fruity notes. Top for the price.

And then, to finish off the weekend, we had a T.D.L from Planteray. Of course, the usual profile here too: lots of mint, menthol, and eucalyptus. A very fresh rum, with some fruitiness coming through on the palate as well.

Wow! Seriously! Do you like TDL? Those with a peachy ice tea flavor, with a well-dosed minty freshness? Well, go for it, because this rum ticks all the boxes of an excellent 2003. And it's incredibly well-priced! Why not go for 9/10? The finish is rather short, especially on the fresh side. But I'm buying my second bottle tomorrow morning!

Super cool release! Loses out in direct comparison with the RX Swell, but a real treat for lovers of the 2001 TDL profile. Lots of menthol and dirtiness, light wood and an amazingly long finish for the abv. Also a divine PLV

Everything I appreciate about T.D.L is present in this bottling. The fine bright fruits, led by peach and lychee, delicious mint and a pleasant caramel base. Although a closer taste reveals that some leached wood has found its way into the batch from the barrels used, the overall package is truly phenomenal in relation to the price.

A wonderful T.D.L with an outstanding PLV. A wonderful sipper with the typical flavor notes. Lots of eucalyptus, mint and menthol can be found in the nose and taste. Enriched with citrus fruits and a hint of caramel. The finish is relatively short as it is diluted. I really like the rum, it has a wonderful lightness and yet enough complexity.

Klassische Marker, sehr gelungen und nahe an anderen starken Abfüllungen. Tiefe Aromen: Kompott, Umami, würzig, mineralisch, mit viel Minze. Leicht pelzig, etwas käsig, dazu eine trockene und leicht „dreckige“ Note. Sehr stimmig und komplex im Gesamtbild. Die vermutete Verdünnung fällt kaum ins Gewicht, wirkt bekömmlich und rund. Mit Kokoswasser kommt extrem gut.

A nose with sticky notes and a slight workshop influence, including a dose of menthol. The palate is also full of menthol, mint and eucalyptus. This combination also lingers in the throat for a relatively long time. A nice thing for the price.

Its beautiful amber color immediately invites you to put your nose above the chimney of the glass. The scents are typical TDL, in a very light concentration. Eucalyptus and blackcurrant come together. A touch of black tea mingles with menthol and camphor. There are a few medicinal hints, and the whole is very fresh. The palate feels like biting into a bunch of fresh mint, just knocked against the palm. Impressive minty freshness, Hollywood chewing-gum style. The woodiness is light, with traces of blackcurrant. But that's about it. And that's a shame. It leaves you wanting more. The length is below average, still with that menthol and red fruit. Did I like it? Yes, very much so, and I think I'll buy a bottle. The price is so modest for a 22-year-old rum that it would be a shame to pass it up. It's the perfect bottle to introduce newcomers to the world of rum to TDL, without feeling like you're emptying a rare bottle you'll never find again. After all, it's a far cry from the quality of other TDL 2003s.

Caramel and palm dates. Pours dark golden. A hint of diesel, some wood and tangerine. More oak in the mouth, sharp oak. Sweet marmalade, probably dosed. Light cloying tanginess in the finish, some grapefruit. A little permethrin that sticks with you. Sample thanks to xamsx.

A rather fun rum, for me the eucalyptus/mint side is really unusual, I had to taste it several times to appreciate it and give it a rating. Otherwise, the woody and fruity notes are also present and accompany the eucalyptus, which stays quite long on the palate.

A nice surprise. I was looking for a Trinidad at drinking strength for a long time for my tasting. This is it! Nice eucalyptus note. Sure, the finish isn't sooo long, but it's enough, Alcohol super integrated.

But already some reviews about this hyped bottling. As far as the nose is concerned, I'm totally thrilled, I love Trinidad so much that I would have given it 9.4 points. Unfortunately, for me it drops off significantly on the palate. The familiar markers are there, but unfortunately I find it too thin. Nevertheless, the dilution cannot tame the wood, in my opinion it is past its zenith. Too woody, too much tannin. Considering the price of ~ 60€ still a very good bottling. Conclusion: smell more and get excited 😀

Možno trochu chuťovo drsnejší na svoje ABV, ale chuť mäty v ňom je a rovno poriadna dávka. Za rovnaké peniaze sa z legendárneho ročníka T.D.L. 2003 nedá kúpiť nič lepšie. Maybe a bit harsher in taste for its ABV, but the flavor of yellow fruits and mint is there, and it's in a generous dose. For the same money there's very probably nothing better from the legendary T.D.L.'s 2003 vintage.

Das Highlight 2025 was Preis/ Genuß angeht. Mein aktueller Daily Sipper und für TDL Liebhaber eine Abfüllung die man ohne schlechtes Gewissen in Mengen genießen kann. Diese Abfüllung macht so viel richtig. Alle TDL Marker die ich suche sind da. Der Rum hat viel Minze und Menthol Frische mit Frucht und einem ordentlichen Holzeinschlag, der fast modrig wirkt. Er könnte hinten raus etwas kräftiger sein, aber wie leicht er sich trinken lässt ist schon fast gruselig. Alles richtig gemacht. Gibt es intensivere und bessere TDLs aus diesem Jahrgang? Definitiv. Aber nur zu einem vielfachen zu diesem Preis.

This rum absolutely thrilled me with its pronounced aromas of menthol, eucalyptus and above all the fresh mint note. The profile is clear, intense and exactly to my taste. For me, the high rating is mainly due to the strong price-performance ratio. I am not active in the absolute high-end sector, which is precisely why this rum is a hit for me. If you like fresh, minty notes, you should definitely try it!

That is crazy value for money which is lacking these days. The rum itself is extremely delicious, oily and minty. The 47% are great, don t be afraid rum geeks ! It's a very good choice for a reduction and it is still packed with tons of flavours. What a surprise from planteray, thx guys !!!

A reduction that keeps the fatness and pleasure of tasting at its best. Classy packaging. An insane price, less expensive than a bad white rum from I don't know where. But.... go for it, people! Go for it, because there won't be many of these priced like this.... We're talking about a 22-year-old rum, aren't we!
