#5842 11.10.2025 Visiting the Whisky Live Hamburg 2025 event. It was the first of its kind and went off pretty well. They still have to learn a lot about running an event like this. People were allowed to bring backpacks and even cabin bags to the event and that is a problem in my mind. This is a pretty good release and the price tag is also really good in my mind. The profile is nice and intense, yet natually sweet and fruity with lots of sugarcane and some floral notes. I can also find some olive, mineral and peppery notes in the profile.

This is a super fun rum that reminds me of a more mineral and briny version of a Grand Arôme despite the fact that their production methods and starting material couldn’t be more different. The heavy congeners count might be somewhat misleading if you expect Jamaican funk. It’s more of a clarin meets a grand Arôme with medical sour funk and great minerality. There’s some nice fruit, like sour cherries, citrus peel, and I think some strawberry notes that round it out.
