Tanduay Dark
Vanilla, caramel and a whiff of nail polish, with a spirity wood edge that's a bit sharp for sipping. Members read it as a less sweet, less artificial cousin of Don Papa — one caller it better than Havana 3 in a Cuba libre. It's a cheap Philippine daily mixer, spicier and hotter than Tanduay's Select, and it works best drowned in cola.

I don't think this rum is bad at all. Nice vanilla and caramel flavor. Had prepared myself for the worst after the reviews, but it didn't happen :-) I am satisfied.

For rum cola with kalamansis instead of lime on vacation in the Philippines, an absolute steal. Especially when you consider that a liter of rum there costs less (2€) than a 1.5 liter bottle of cola (3-4€) 😅 in my opinion it doesn't have to hide from Havana 3 & co and is definitely better even in "Cuba libre"!

A friend visited the Philippines and brought this back for me - it's what they drink there and it is cheap. So I tried it, the nose is vanilla, a bit alcohol and wood, nothing spectacular. On the tongue... Like a not as sweet and artificial made Don Papa... Could use a higher ABV, but It is already in this form better than the dreaded sweet concoction. Maybe people there like this kind of flavour? I am not so fond of the artificial vanilla note, but it is not dominant and as it is way less sweet (still sweet though) I believe I could work with this. Will have to try it in some cocktails, as Kevin for example suggests.

Very fizzy stuff, which is really not good. A little spicy, but not in a good way. More like artificial. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. A bit roasty and dry, but not really good agricole notes either
