Swell de Spirits Diamond Arcade Series #3 (V&B France) PM 2011
Most people land in the low-to-mid 8s: a good young Port Mourant that punches above its 13 years, but a few think it was bottled a touch early. Expect dark coffee, chocolate, charred wood, licorice and dried plum, with a swampy PM olive-brine edge. It runs dark and lightly bitter — one taster called it "a dark powerhouse" that stays just the right side of too tannic.

heute die kaum verfügbare V&B Abfüllung im Glas. An der Nase eher süsslich mit Karamell, Toffee, dahinter kräutrige Noten (frische Gartenkräuter), und die PM-Oliven-Salzlake-Note. Am Gaumen ähnlich, Karamell, Kräuter. Nicht super komplex, aber angenehm zu trinken…

#5631 05.09.2025 Enjoying some sample after work getting ready for the weekend of tastings. Nose Woody, light roasted, light plum, spice, light coffee, dried fruit, light nutts, light anise. Palate Woody, light roasted, faint citrus, light mint, spice, faint leather, light anise, light coffee, light chocolate. Finish Medium to long, woody, roasted, raisin, light citrus, prunes, light cinnamon. Empty glass Chocolate, vanilla, prunes, light raisin, coffee.

Tasted together with the reduced Franconian Tasting Gang. In my opinion, a solid bottling for its age. Compared to the beautiful label, it can't quite keep up. Conclusion for me, a lower 8.

8,6:On the nose, the first impression we get is vegetal and woody, dark. The wood is charred with leather, coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts and confectionery, the fruits are dried with dates, raisins and figs.A combination of raisins and vegetal aspect gives us a fruit schnapps note. On aeration, the wood is spicy and still dark with extra notes like umami, burnt sugar, crème brûlée, licorice confirms darkness, also tobacco, cocoa and prunes, with coppery touch and a whiff of citrus. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is dark with charred wood notes like coffee, biscuits, fudge, dark chocolate, caramelized Demerara sugar and leather, molasses contributes licorice, black tea, as dried fruits give raisins, figs and apricots. Resting brings citrus and mango, slightly metallic patina and menthol. 8,7:The finish is long, dry and tannic, darkness with palate notes still prevades+cherry..

As I write this review, I still have the taste of a latte with a hint of chocolate syrup in my mouth - a completely new experience. The coffee flavor runs through the entire tasting, accompanied by varying degrees of chocolate and wood notes. There is also some fruit and caramel on the palate. Conclusion: really delicious!

Un peu fier de pouvoir présenter cette cuvée aux côtés de l’équipe lors du Rhum fest, Paris ! Un profil très sympa, que le public a vraiment validé à 100 %, le chocolat et le café laisse la place à des notes herbacé et réglisse. En finale, je trouve. Atypique !

Relatively young Port Mourant, but delivers relatively well for its age. Not bad at all for a 2011 either. Swampy, sweet, cocoa butter, wood, vanilla. But all in all, it remains a low 8

Voilà un Port mourant que j adore ! Pas toujours eu des expériences folles avec Port mourant lorsque le boisé est humide/ pourri. Ici le boisé est sur un très agréable torréfié .on a beaucoup de rondeur et gourmandise chocolatée, la force du café, de la pâtisserie , des notes de réglisse. Alcool pas trop présent

Dégusté au Rhum Fest Paris 2025. Jolie couleur sherry bomb, sans ajout. 👃 Un presque 60% qui titille les narines sur le piquant du bois, du fruit très confit (tropicaux et prune), très sucré sans aucun ajout, toute sorte de déclinaison autour d'un bon gros caramel. Du chocolat noir pâtissier aussi. 😋 Gros boisé Demerara. Très sucré/salé, umami, sauce soja, réglisse fondue salée, léger gingembre, un peu de café au caramel et l'amertume du citron jaune. Le fruité sur de la prune/datte séchée. ⛳ Sur l'amertume boisée, pas dérangeante, fruits très cuits, caramel et réglisse fondu. Concentré, atypique pour un jeune PM.

Encore une dégustation sur le stand Swell lots du RhumFest Paris 2025. Superbe Guyana. Relativement jeune mais boisé assez fondu et agréable. Quelques fruits secs. Mériterait une dégustation plus en longueur.

Erneut ein Port Mourant nachdem mir der Spirit of the day sehr gut gefallen hat. Der Swell kommt den gut fünf Prozent höherem abv entsprechend kräftiger an der Nase an. Hier sind es vor allem dunkle Kaffeearomen die hervorstechen. Am Gaumen kraftvoll mit Aprikose, etwas Schokolade aber vor allem dunkel und im Vergleich auch deutlich bitterer. Schwer einen Favoriten zu finden. Der SotD kommt etwas leichter und süßlicher daher wirkt aber sehr ausgewogen während der Swell ein dunkles Kraftpaket ist welches den Spagat zwischen markanten Holzeinschlag und zuviel Bitterkeit aber noch sehr gut hinbekommt.

Le nez surprend par quelques esters et une banane noircie, très très mûre. Le tabac et la selle de cheval se mélangent à un caramel un peu brûlé. Le tout dans une complexité folle d'épices et de réglisse. Malgré tout son caractère empyreumatique sur ce caramel brûlé, mêlé à de la racine et en fleurs capiteuses, il est assez rond et gourmand sous la narine. Cette impression sirupeuse se poursuit en bouche, avec un alcool très bien intégré. Là encore beaucoup d'épices (muscade), de tabac et de cuir, mais avec une présence très forte du bâton de réglisse qu'on mâche et qui libère ce jus sucré, caramélisée. Pour autant, aucun sucre ajouté là-dedans. Un légère amertume et un côté terreux, apportent encore plus de complexité au breuvage. Même si ce rhum est très gourmand, j'ai personnellement beaucoup de mal avec ce profil aromatique. Il ne peut pas plaire à tout le monde pour son côté très végétal, voire racine. Il demeure néanmoins très bon mais je n'en prendrai pas une bouteille pour autant.

Schöner Guyana Vertreter: Bleistiftspähne, Kaffee, schokoladige und dunkle Noten, Holz und ein langer Abgang. Das Ganze wirkt in sich harmonisch, lediglich der Alkohol könnte einen Tick besser eingebunden sein. Spaß im Glas, der Lust auf mehr macht.

Geruch nach kandieren Früchten, Schokolade. Geschmacklich Holz Note, getrocknete Pflaume etwas schärfe, Alkohol durchaus auf der Zunge aber noch ganz gut eingebunden im großen und Ganzen. Hätte eventuell noch etwas im dass bleiben können, macht aber auch so schon Spaß zu verkosten
