Absolute Überraschung und für mich DAS Highlight der (offiziell zu verkostenden😉) Abfüllungen auf dem GRF 2025! Nachdem ich bei den ersten vier Standard-Abfüllungen des Chairman's-Tastings leider schon fast eingeschlafen war, elektrisierte mich der Inhalt des letzten Glases - und nicht nur mich! Dieser Chairman's ist unglaublich gut gelungen, auch wenn man blind nie auf Saint Lucia gekommen wäre, wenn man nicht gerade in der Destillerie arbeitet. Mir hat vor allem die Abgerundetheit gefallen und dass man eine lange Fermentation rausschmecken konnte (auch wenn es tatsächlich wohl nur 48 Stunden waren, falls ich mich richtig erinnere). Der Rum wirkt irgendwie sehr erdig und würzig und sehr ursprünglich, also einfach nah an der Natur, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf. Ich schätze, zu Beginn des Tastings war dieser neue Rum allen noch komplett unbekannt. Umso erstaunlicher, dass er zum Zeitpunkt des offiziellen Tastings auf der Messe schon ausverkauft war. Wer da so früh schon den richtigen Riecher gehabt hat, bleibt ein Rätsel. Fazit: Ein wie aus dem Nichts aufgetauchter Rum, den man unbedingt mal probiert haben sollte. Sensationell!

#5612 31.08.2025 Chairman's Reserve tasting at the German Rum Fest 2025. This one is the bomb and I could smell it as soon as I sat down at the table. The ABV is perfectly integrated and it has a medium intense nose with wood and ester like notes. The is also light ginger and tobacco backed with light chocolate and caramel. This is a rum you should give a try if you get the chance.

Messebewertung: Wow - Granate! Muss mir ne Flasche besorgen. Leider dachten das wohl alle. Im blind Tasting hätte ich auf NY 05 oder 09 getippt. Dieser Rum hat einfach so viel Ester und Tropische Früchte, dass man nicht an einen Chairmans Reserve denken würde
