What a sipper with super PLV. The label basically says it all; caramel, young wood and coconut - with varying degrees of intensity from nose to finish. After 30 minutes of resting, the nose is still slightly citrusy; dried fruit is permanently present. A great starter rum!

#5246 16.04.2025 Tasting with Fabian in Blåvand. Nose Fresh, fruity, light citrus, faint coconut, light caramel, light wood, faint roasted, light raisin. Palate Light oily, faint wood, fruity, light caramel, faint citrus, light pineapple, light caramel. Finish Medium to long, warm, light oily, light wood, light coconut, light caramel. Needs to rest for a while or hand warm it to really open up and settle the ABV.

Ich vermute mal ganz stark foursquare 😉 Die Nase ist nicht überzeugend, neben Holz und ein bisschen Nuss ist da vor allem Alkohol. Aber vollkommen egal, da der Alkohol auf der Zunge einfach nur weg is und ein typisches foursquare Profil zum Vorschein kommt. Nicht weltbewegend, aber gut. Kontinentale Reifung hat dann aber doch nicht so den Körper. Passt trotzdem ! Guter sipper.

A relaxed and, at eight years old, still relatively young rum from Barbados. Exhibits the typical Barbados characteristics from the first sniff to the finish. Coconut, vanilla, caramel. All at a relaxed drinking strength. Perfect for cocktails. That's where I'll be using it.

Für 40€ ein extrem guter Barbados Rum der ideale Basis für Bermuda Yacht Club, Corn n oil etc bietet. Wirklich gute Preis Leistung aber Natürlich auch eher für Drinks gedacht und nicht pur gedacht aber auch pur solide.

Edit: für den Preis wirklich ein guter Rum. Tolle Auswahl von Stefan. Um ehrlich zu sein, ist der Rum kein wirkliches Feuerwerk. Habe diesen sowohl pur als auch als Mixer probiert. Pur wirkt er auf mich ein bißchen dünn und es fehlt ein wenig die Komplexität. Als Mixer ist er aber recht süffig. Als Fazit kann man für den Preis nichts falsch machen. Definitiv auch als Einsteigerrum geeignet.

Puh … also zum pur trinken ist er definitiv nix. Aber ich glaube, dass das zu dem Preis ja auch niemand wirklich erwartet. Hab ihm auf einem Kurztrip mit Family dabei und werde ihn definitiv daheim in nem Cocktail probieren.
