For the first time I taste an aged rum from this distillery! I have always heard good things about it and it was confirmed! Rich intense and spicy! A seesaw of flavors in my mouth!!!

14.12.2019 A nice get together in a summerhouse with family and friends and rum for some of us. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light, light wood, roasted, fruits, plum, cherry, light anise, faint coffee. Palate Balanced, complex, wood, roasted, oily, plum, light chocolate, cherry, light orange, anise, faint coffee, medium dry. Finish Medium to long, wood, roasted, medium dry, berried, light orange, faint chocolate. Extra note Very complex considering the low ABV.

The color is very dark, almost black. The nose is full and enveloping with notes of wood, fine leather, burnt sugar, vegetable/herb/camomile, pastry/cream, plums, fine spices, dates, warm honey and light roasting, wow overwhelming! The palate is punchy and dense with sweet vegetal notes, plums, dates, caramel, floral fringipane, spices (especially pepper) and a light wood. Kneading the mouth and demonstrating multiple degrees, the finish is medium-long. Leaves a dry, corky aftertaste with dates. Differs from the 2011 which I found better, woody and with character. In the empty glass roasted.
