#5167 22.03.2025 Tasting at Whisky Watcher, Odense. Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruits, light wood, light pineapple, citrus, spice, faint smoke, light olive. Palate Light oily, light wood, faint smoke, fruits, light citrus, faint caramel, light ginger, faint herbal. Finish Long and warm, fruits, light wood, herbal, light tea, faint medicinal, citrus. Needs some time in the glass to really open up properly.

8,5:On the nose, esters and glue bump into our nosetrils with overripe tropical fruits like pineapple, banana, citrus fruits, smoky, spicy wood with baking spices and an olive. On aeration, the molasses is grassy and flowery, roasted wood brings pastry, biscuits and marzipan, nuts. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters and rubber, funky, fruity with pineapple and citrus, the wood is smoky, spicy, salty with caramel and ginger and the molasses herbaceous, vegetal with olive, eucalyptus. After resting the rum, a crunchy bread comes out... 8,3:The finish is rounder, dry, fruity, medium long, the molasses is grassy, herbaceous, some medicinal notes are present, as spicy and roasted wood..

Quite an exciting story: Lots of olive and citrus fruit on the nose. A little pineapple on the palate, then a few toasty, smoky, even dirty notes. Not really a complex monster, but I did enjoy it, but it definitely doesn't make it into the top group of the "Many Faces of Rum".

In the nose, the fruitiness of citrus fruits is particularly noticeable ... Pineapple and some solvent ginger light smoky notes but not disturbing. In the mouth first some sweetness with fruits, candied pineapple and solvent (ester). It then becomes a little bitter for a short time, but this then subsides and it tastes of fresh wood. All in all it is very smooth and restrained.

A pretty good Fiji from TWJ. I find it very varied, almost complex. I am particularly impressed by the nose and palate. The fresh, estery, fruity nose is beguiling. On the palate, there is a certain funkiness with spice, fruit, esters and a gum and brine mixture. Only the relatively short, not quite harmonious finish denies a higher note.

One of the few Fiji I've tasted. A new profile to discover. The nose is rather restrained, but offers slightly Jamaican notes with barely estherized fruit and a vegetal demarcation. On the palate, I still find very light esters, the fruitiness has all but disappeared in favor of the vegetal, and a certain liveliness, a little acidic, reminds me of ginger. The finish is sober, with a slightly smoky burnt sugar.

A great technical Fiji aroma with citrus, ginger and fruit. The taste follows. Again some chemistry, gingerbread spice or something. The finish is nice and smooth, medium-long. Smaller abv makes it very approachable and drinkable.

The nose is deceptive, I would have bet on Jamaica. Pineapple, citrus zest, light smoke, a bevy of tropical fruits. Notes still present on the palate. Very fruity. Some herbaceous notes and spices on the finish. Long, warm finish. A nice surprise!

Sweet wood in the smell, slightly spicy in the taste

Less glue in the nose then their 2012 Fiji, but you still get your glue with more fruit. Very herbal profile in taste, which i'm not used to of a Fiji. Almond finish. Interesting rum, but I don't need a bottle in my Fiji collection. This is really a bottle try before you buy, some will like it and some don't.
