Most tasters land in the same friendly place: a well-made everyday agricole that keeps its grassy sugarcane backbone under a young, gentle wood from its multi-cask aging. Nose runs fruity and spicy (mango, dried fruit, vanilla, cinnamon), the palate turns woodier, peppery and lightly smoky. A few note it can't quite match a Saint-James VO, but for the style it's honest and lively at 40%.

Boisé bluffant pour un VO. Le passage en 4 fûts apporte quelque chose de gourmand, un boisé pas trop envahissant et agréable . Il y a une belle homogénéité, on garde une trame agricole qui s est enrichie de fruits compotés et fruis secs . Une jolie base dans un bar.

19.04.2019 Meeting up with some old colleagues at this wonderful hotel. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, wood, fruity, spices, light medicinal, light grass, light honey. Palate Fresh, fruity, lightly spicy, light mineral, medium dry, light wood. Finish Medium to long, wood, spicy, fruits, light citrus.

Pour un rhum de gamme permanente d’appellation VO, ce Maison La Mauny est plutôt bien réussi. Le nez est particulièrement aromatique avec ses belles notes fruités sur les fruits secs, les agrumes (orange, citron vert) et les fruits tropicaux (banane, mangue). Puis viennent les notes florales, et surtout les épices sur le piment, la vanille et la cannelle. Le boisé est assez jeune et discret. Un profil assez riche et aguicheur. L’attaque en bouche est un peu plus vive et tonique sur les notes agricoles et herbacées. Le boisé, la canne à sucre et les épices sont plus marquées, tandis que les fruits se contentent du second rôle. Bien qu’il conserve une belle suavité, le profil est relativement relevé pour un rhum à 40%, ce qui est plutôt appréciable. La finale est de longueur correcte, d’avantages ronde et fruitée, avec toujours le même bouquet d’épices et quelques notes toastées qui viennent en complément, laissant un souvenir agréable en bouche. Un joli rhum de base, dont le vieillissement sous multiples fûts apporte une belle complexité au produit fini.

Und noch einen guten Agricole hinterher. Kommt nicht an den vorherigen ran, aber trotzdem gut. Sehr würzig in der Nase, Vanille und Zuckerrohr sind erkennbar. Am Gaumen wird er dann recht holzig und rauchig, auch Pfeffer ist am Start.

Toller Agricole, der trotz Lagerung seine Agricolnoten nicht verloren hat. In der Nase voll fruchtig-würzig. Toll im Ti-Punch! Meines Erachtens gute Wahl bei tollem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Not too strong on the alcool. Nice mix of flavor due to the different casks used (porto, cognac, bourbon and moscatel). Can still taste the sugar cane. Very good in Ti-vieux or straight.
