Santiago de Cuba Añejo
Here's the twist: the alcohol bite lands in the middle rather than the front or finish, which one member found genuinely unusual. Otherwise this is a light, thin Cuban column-still rum — faint cherry and fruit, not much depth. Most tasters call it simple and one-dimensional, but on ice or in cola it does its job fine. Don't expect much sipped neat.

Light, simple Cuban mixer, thin neat Opinions land around the middle: pleasant enough as a Cuban mixer, but flat and simple neat, with an alcohol edge that gets in the way of the flavor.

Low-end rum. A tasting is meaningless. To be drunk after dinner very lightheartedly!

Review by Kieron Wood
A wierd middle taste which is unusual for a rum as it's usually the burn at start or the end ... It is a high quality mixer rum that I had on the rocks first then mixed it and it was pure genius ... Lovely balance unique in its own way

Read full review →I didn't try this with cola as whilst I'm sure it would make a perfectly decent Cuba Libre I would go for the younger Sanitago de Cuba if I wanted that experience. Fidel might not have been right about everything but I can certainly see why he enjoyed this rum...
