A big, bold nose. Fruity, blackberries upfront followed by furniture polish, tobacco and orange peel in the background. The palate has a lot of gingery spice at first but mixed with plenty of raspberry and cherry then some flinty minerality and a green, tree sap like note. Interesting. The finish is long. Sweet but still pretty fiery ginger joined by a distant bit of orange peel. Just hanging out there. A great rum. Not too sure the finish was needed, I think it hasn't really added much, it hasn't dampened the experience either though.
