Michael Sporer Echter Batavia Arrak
Members land it around the middle: interesting, clearly Batavia Arrack, but the sourness keeps tripping it up. The nose leans unusually fruity for the style — candied raisins, maraschino cherry, marzipan, a little smoke and red pepper. On the palate it turns vegetal and funky, overripe red fruit with a vinegar edge that several tasters found distracting. At 48% the alcohol sits well; the finish is where it thins out.

Fruity Batavia Arrack with a sour, funky edge Real character and a recognizable arrack, but a persistent sour, vinegary streak divides opinion and a simple finish holds it back. More curiosity than everyday pour.

Arrack 2.0 @Artur: Etwas Tequila, Zimt, aber guter Geschmack!
Review by crazyforgoodbooze

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur.
