Overripe banana, pineapple and a streak of varnish lead the way, wrapped in a buttery, honeyed body that keeps this Hampden DOK rounder than you'd expect from a 2-year-old at 84.7%. Roasted pineapple carries the palate, with light caramel and wood behind it. The alcohol is fierce but, as most tasters note, remarkably well integrated — you genuinely don't feel the full proof until the warm finish.

Tasted at the Multi Verres Spirits show in Lyon in February 2025: for me, it was the revelation of the show. Butter, toffee and light wood accompany fresh fruit. Obviously not so powerful. Everyone loved it!
