8,4:On the nose, toasted oak with nougat, caramel, burnt sugar, chocolate, spicy with baking spices, flowery molasses, citrus, dried fruits, coconut, medicinal touch, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, glue is obvious, dried apricots, raisins, the pastry is caramelized, vanilla joins. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is typical Bajan with roasted/toasted wood notes like caramel, roasted nuts, caramelized burnt sugar, pastry, leather, chocolate, spicy with vanilla and baking spices, slightly smoky, metallic, fruity with coconut, pineapple, dried apricots, raisins, citrus fruits, as the molasses is dark with black tea, slightly minty. Some resemblance to whisky might be recognized, when the rum is well rested. 8,1:The finish is short, dry, with all Bajan markers lingering on..

Great FSQ, which convinces on the palate with a transition from dry to tropical fruits. On the nose, pleasant nougat and a balanced wood-spice-fruit mix. On the palate, a hint of mint can be detected. The finish is very pleasant. Alcohol is very well integrated; only slightly diluted on the palate.

Rich caramel, coconut, tropical fruits with a citrusy freshness, vanilla, dried fruits; on the palate, a surprising mint note and the barrel aging adds woody-smoky notes. A very successful Foursquare release from 2006.

#1757 28-03-2026 - Rate 8.1 If I have to drink Barbados rum, I would always choose a Foursquare. I really like the nose on this one. Lots of fruit and spice. The taste however has notes of peated whisky cask. I can’t stand peated whisky. I believe I’m being to gentle with a rating of 8.1.

Nice Foursquare, a bit less coconut than usual, but I like it. You don't notice the almost 60% ABV on the nose or palate. Good cask selection from Bedfordpark Spirits, makes me look forward to more releases from the guys in the UK.

Surprisingly good Foursquare! Tropical notes dominate, column and alcohol well integrated.
Review by Stijn Zino
Tasting some Foursquare next to eachother. Bedford vs Velier. This one lot's of vanilla because of the Bourbon barrel. Long nice finish. Real price quality Foursquare.

25/04/2025: Bedford Park tasting with Stijn. Good, decent Foursquare with the typical tasting notes that you would expect. The finish is tasty and the alcohol is integrated rather well. Good value for money.

Really solid and drinkable Foursquare. Just a go to sipping rum - has a bit of the pencil shavings that some ECS has, I do wonder if it could’ve been taken out of the barrel sooner but I’m being a bit pedantic. Enjoyable with a long finish, showing the distillates quality. At the price you’re not getting much better value for money.

Muffiger Geruch, untypisch für Foursquare, Alkohol gut eingebunden

"Something creamy - maybe a little Custard Tart. The finish is long and very warming - leather and tobacco with lots of that oak spice. All in all this is very good stuff and its still available should you wish to get a bottle. I'm a little late to the..."Read full review →
