Bedford Park Long Pond Single Barrel Jamaican Rum CRV 2004
Forget the glue-and-varnish you expect from Long Pond — this low-ester CRV goes the other way. It's soft, citrus-driven and fruity: mandarin, orange peel, a squeeze of lime, with bourbon-cask caramel and vanilla behind. Give it air and the oak steps back to let the fruit sing. At 66% it runs a touch hot, but it drinks far easier than the proof suggests.

First time trying this mark. It's so soft and fruity. Very hard to distinguis the Long Pond identity in this, but it's there. Overal very fruity with lots of citrus notes. Some bitterness in taste. Long finish. Easy drinking but not really convinced as Long Pond fan.
Review by Jacques etdom
Un long pond tres patissier. Nez : caramel, vanille, banane cuite, mangue.

Smooth, drinkable, overly enjoyable that I’ve been through nearly a bottle already with my friends to start the year… lots of ripe fruit, light funk, balanced as they come and great complexity for a column still.

It’s really interesting how much this opens up - quite oak forward when you first taste it but on a blind taste it sings. Beautiful colours and flavour that really fit with a column still LP. Classic bourbon barrel notes but there’s an extra layer that really develops with the air.

Drying, woody, fruity. Not a huge standout but also a high quality product. A little hot on the alcohol.
