Aroma visualization from community tastings
Poisson Père Labat Clos Parcellaire La Salabotte 2024
Most tasters land on the same picture: a fresh, elegant white agricole built on sugarcane, grass and citrus, with a peppery, gingery, mineral streak and a salty, oily edge. One reviewer even caught soft caramel and hazelnut on the nose. Not everyone's profile, though — a couple found it too herbal and sharp. The finish runs long and warm.

Fresh, peppery white agricole with salty edge Well-made fresh agricole most found elegant and balanced — cane, grass, pepper, ginger and a salty mineral note. A few just didn't take to the herbal, sharp style.

#5522 02.08.2025 Relaxing at home after the 18th birthday of my brothers twins. Nose Fresh, medium intense, citrus, light floral, light anise, spice, light coconut, sugarcane. Palate Oily, fresh, medium intense, citrus, light anise, spice, warm, light herbal, sugarcane, faint salt. Finish Long and warm, medium intense, oily, light salt, sugarcane, citrus, light mineral. Empty glass Cardamum, citrus, light grass, light apple, light licorice.

Tasted in a line-up after 2 other whites. The nose surprised me enormously with a smell of sweet caramel, fresh hazelnut, unusual for a white agricultural rum. On the palate, I lost this roundness for something grassy, black peppery, licorice with a mineral note. The finish is a little bitter, with orange zest and pepper.

One of the white rums that impressed me at the Rum Fest in Paris. Clearly an agricole, with the winning triptych of sugarcane, herbs and citrus. An impression of fruit brandy (plum, pear). An earthiness and spiciness (ginger?) complete the picture. The nose is more charming than the palate. All in all, I appreciate the balance and elegance of this white rum.
