Rhum J.M Single Barrel (Kirsch Whisky) 2015
One taster sums it up: "Kirsch und J.M passt einfach." This leans to the dark, spicy end of agricole — intense oak from nose to finish, burnt sugar, vanilla and a quiet thread of cherry and dried fruit. For a Martinique rum it's surprisingly low on grass and flowers; the wood and spice do the talking. Most find the 54.2% pleasant, though a few catch the alcohol poking through.
The community says- Long spicy finish
- Toasted oak depth

Sehr schöne Farbe (Kupferrot). Sehr gute Nase. Schön ausgewogen, gute Trinkstärke. Leichte Lösungsmittel, getrocknete und rote Früchte. Holzig, geröstet, stark würzig. Vanille, Karamell. Im Mund sehr kräftig und sehr würzig. Etwas alkoholisch. Schöner Abgang, lang und würzig. Ganz im Stil des Hauses. Kräftig, würzig (das hatten wir schon). Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Very intense wood flavors from nose to finish. Burnt sugar and (red) fruit on the nose. The very long-lasting spiciness is added on the palate, and I also taste cherry. The alcohol is a little too overpowering. Overall, the typical Rhum J.M flavors are present; for me, however, only a medium-class bottling

8,7:On the nose, sugarcane, vegetal, flowery, mineral, sweet with honey, toasted wood notes like chocolate, caramel, nuts, pastry, biscuits, bbq hints, vanilla, dried apricots, raisins, yellow fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, warm spices arise with nutmeg, pepper, burnt sugar, leather, the sugarcane becomes herbaceous, grassy, citrus, red fruits join, some candied. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, fresh with sugarcane juice, flowery, mineral, candied with licorice, peppery, fruity with cherry, berries, dried apricots and raisins, currants and citrus fruits, later peaches, mirabelle plum, the wood is toasted with caramel, burnt sugar, roasted nuts, biscuits, pastry, leather, spicy with baking spices, vanilla, winterly.Barrel impact is strong. 8,7:The finish is long, dry&tannic, with grassy, flowery, mineral sugarcane, red, dried, yellow, citrus fruits, pineapple hints, toasted oak notes, spicy..

Kirsch and J.M simply go together. Beautiful medium-aged bottling at a solid drinking strength.

Great roasted flavors/spiciness with vanilla and light fruitiness. Surprisingly little grassy and floral for Martinique. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Very nice bottling.
